I am glad to see this draconian measure from George Osborne back in the news... gives power to HMRC to shaft the little guy while still doing deals with big business. If you are a small business owner or freelancer, please complain to your MP, get on social media and spread the word...

As self employed, there are thin enough margins, how easy does it need to be for these thieving B's to come and raid your working capital! What's more there is no recourse with them, they say you owe, who can you get to fight your side? Argue and you are likely to find you are subject to an 'enquiry' of your accounts... I have a friend who's life was ruined by such an investigation; he is now unable to work through ill health and lost his business, house, family etc. three years and they found nothing but broke him, his health, faith and trust...

I just assumed in today's surveillance society they already have full access to my bank accounts; and telephone calls, and emails, and everything else.
