Been thinking about the conversion and particulalry the effort/cost in retro fitting the boot part.

As i'm not familiar with what function the reflectors/lights play in that part, is it possible to avoid making a change and retain the 4200 boot or would there be MOT issues?

Attached a roughy to try and explain , granted not quite as complete as the full kit

i know you can get a conversion ket from G&S in Germany for about Euro 5,000. You get "Replacement for the original tailgate. Incl. assembly material, cable plans, rear lights original Maserati
3200, back lighting inserts"

The lights in the boot lid are reversing and fog as far as I remember, so you would need to relocate these somewhere..!!

I agree that the boomerang lights look fantastic and would have preferred if they maintained them right through to the later models.
I just don't know that I would want to change the originality of the car.
A bit like telling your brunette wife to dye her hair because you prefer blondes....................

The bumper reflector do ruin it for me so having all the 3200 parts sitting in the garage, I would apply stick on reflectors for the MOT that would then mysteriously fall off the day after the MOT....if you get my drift.

Good one Matt.....thats a good way of doing it

You will need a 3200 boot as the boot has the reversing lights in it as Robert says

Are you planning in doing the spyder Matt?
The boot is different so more work though.

I just love the Boomerangs, but I think the cost of the change is just not worth that much love. Each to their own, however :)

When i have driven behind a 3200 the boomerangs seem to perform an optical illusion and trick you in to thinking the car much is much wider than it really is which doesn't half add to its road presence in my opionion.

But at these conversion costs I would only consider changing if the car was a keeper. I wonder what affect a conversion might have on the cars value, with many propsective buyers looking for originality??

*I'd* buy a conversion, but I'm not precious about this kind of thing. I'd not pay much of a premium, mind.

The thing is, I have never seen a converted car in the flesh, or one converted in the UK/for sale having been done.
Only a few on the continent.

Not to the Spyder no, probably to a GS

I also have the carbon spoiler saved for that too (when Loz pulls his finger out) and probably gloss black wheels with Fuji paint and red leather interior.
