I have finally done it.......put a deposit down on a black 2012 f30, its auto with sat nav and leather and most importantly for me it has split fold seats, perfect for a man with a child's bicycle to carry around haha

I have been negotiating with the seller for a week and finally I got it at a good price.

One question for you if I may....

Can I change that bloody awful wood trim? Can I buy 3m Carbon tape and wrap it? Any advice? It's the only thing I don't like about it

You'll learn to live with it mate. More trouble than it's worth.

You'll be too busy moaning about the run-flat tyres! :beat_brick:

Changing the wheels straight away to winters and 19s alloys....non run flat

I don't want to learn to live with it.....not a fan but hard to find a used car with all the boxes ticked for a limited budget....

Changing the wheels and tyres will be the best thing you could ever do.

I'm sure you could find somewhere near you who could wrap them bits for you easily.

Talk to Beau, he uses a hydro dip place to get bits coated I recall. Well done anyway on the purchase...

Enjoy, Needs must, it's a good car for what you want it for. One day we will both have replacements for our ACs. At the moment there are higher prioritys.

Agree with the comments on run flats, there were awful on my E92 and changing them for non runflats transformed the car.

Is it the N47 engine? (My 520d has this engine)

If so change the oil every 10k or annually, there is a history of timing chains failing on these, thought to be partly due to the excessive 20k mile oil change intervals. Chains at the back so big job to change if it gets noisy or engine destroyed when they snap.

Oil is cheaper than metal!

thanks guys.....car has been into BMW to get recalls done.....will check if the timing chain was one

amazing economy, I pick it up on Friday but reading reviews says they are comfortable cruisers, fast (0-60 in 7.4 secs) and still do 54 mpg!!

split fold seats was the real plus point, it means it gives me that little more boot space that I need

Well done Dem, I'm sure you'll miss the Panda but needs must!

It looks a good one though & once you get that wood trim sorted, you'll be a happy man

Doesn't the trim just pop-off? I'd have thought it would be easy enough to get it recovered. Replacing it would probably be daft money though - bits of trim like that always seem to cost a fortune.
