I have finally done it.......put a deposit down on a black 2012 f30, its auto with sat nav and leather and most importantly for me it has split fold seats, perfect for a man with a child's bicycle to carry around haha

I have been negotiating with the seller for a week and finally I got it at a good price.

One question for you if I may....

Can I change that bloody awful wood trim? Can I buy 3m Carbon tape and wrap it? Any advice? It's the only thing I don't like about it

I always like how showrooms hoover floor mats like mowing a lawn.

Nice car Dem, I have a 330d and it's great, taking the run-flats off did improve the car, but it may invalidate the warranty, and... believe it or not, it's a modification, and you need to let your insurance company know.

I have an E46 with the same trim, I thought about changing it but it's really hard to pull apart and put back together. They must have really pressed these in to get them fitting snugly. So would leave it for a while and see if it still bothers you.

Dem, rather like the wood...It brighten ups the black...If its anything like my E46 M3 its fixed with this housing lugs. You have to be brave when getting it off. I changed mine and you need a lot of force to remove.

Run flats are horrible :(

The 3.2 GT doesn't have a spare wheel just a can of glue and pump as per the 4200, a quick trawl of flea bay produced a space saver wheel and full kit (jack, wheel brace etc) for £20 delivered

Removing the run-flats on the M spec cars transforms the handling and ride. With the rf's on it tended to skitter across less than perfect surfaces and didn't inspire confidence, especially in the wet. I put Goodyear F1s on and it is light years better.

Always good to pick up a new car!

Hope the drive back on a Friday afternoon isn't too terrible. Unfortunately it normally is!

I pick it up at 3 and have to go straight away to pick up my little girl. No time to get used to it over the weekend.
