Grow a pair, I'd rather take the jokes and enjoy the awesome handling and fun element than misss out because of what some clueless twunt thinks

Anyone who disses a MX-5 is either an idiot or hasn't driven one...

Not true. I'm an idiot AND I haven't driven one.

Correct chaps...an MX5!!

I might have been fibbing about the career change. But since buying it the number of times I get asked for a short back and sides, I am considering a second career.

It is the Mk1. Year of birth, 1996. 112,000 miles.

I've got to say it is nice owning a car that I can tinker with. That it doesn't really matter if I break it. Exposed screws in the interior, a roof millimeters thick, all the joints visible, no beautiful leather to worry about damaging.

It might be crude and all a bit plastic, but it is good fun and much more of a hobby!

Ignore the jibes , they're just jealous , there's a reason it's the world's best selling roadster

Once the sun comes out properly you'll love it, mine is a bit more sophisticated than the Mk1 , heated leather seats , A/C Bose , it's been tinkered with by BBR so puts out 200bhp, I'm just trying to find the time to get down to brackley to get the map updated

MX5 is a hoot, if you haven't driven one you've missed out, the MK1 is a gem, Lotus Elan but none of the headache.

Reading the latest copy of Total MX-5 (yes great mag!) and the editor has a great comment about the stigma etc which I will post. It sums up MX5 ownership and attitude perfectly.

Oh and anyone seen the car with the 6.2 Chevy lump in it? Weapon!!!!
