If using a cover, make sure the paintwork isn't scratched putting it on / taking it off. Road grit between the cover and the paint can scratch especially if it moves in the wind.
seems common sense chris but would could easily be missed, nice tip - wash car before it goes under cover!

My new 42 seemed to attract every seagull in the land to come and dump on her so I knew there was no way I could relax by the pool in Spain for two weeks while worrying about their noxious excrement burning its way through the paint. So I bought a Stormshield and tucked her up in it before I went. It seemed to fit pretty snugly and looks ok, and I am having a relaxing holiday.
Strangely since having my car I get agitated at the sight of bird mess on other people's cars, never my own. Doesn't everyone always carry a microfibre and detailing fluid?
