Hi Guys,

Thanks for the appreciation, it makes the effort worth while when you have so obviously enjoyed the event.

Great to meet some new faces too and see some unfamiliar cars.

Lovely looking car Kazzer and those subtle reddish lowlights in the blue finish - Mwow!

I've chosen not to show most of my Piccies 'cos they've alread been covered in your postings so I've iust picked out a few at random starting at the dawn and finishing at about 4.30. (dusk) *

*Huh, our site appears to have a max. limit on file sizes so I'll have to do an upload onto 'bucket or resample the others into low res..

I'll do another post later, along with the videos included, 'cos it's gonna take a tediously long time to do, and my days are numbered! ;) :)

Just thought I'd add that the white Jag Mk1, BUY 1 is, I believe the famous Coombes of Guildford car which raced in period and has been piloted by many accomplished drivers since as can be seeen on the front wing. I had a good chat to Mark Williams as I had seen him race at Goodwood and he confirmed that the track was very slippery, but a dry line was beginning to appear. This encouraged me to go ontrack in the afternoon.

Here’s a link to all the photos guys:

The videos follow.

I must warn you that this first one “may contain some language which viewers find offensive.”
It concerns the three ‘sighting laps’ ontrack in the GTV which, being FWD, tends to understeer, particularly in the wet and after this session I considered it dangerous to take a passenger until the conditions improved.
So visually, and where you see the camera laterally shaking the car has taken control from the driver and the tyres are scrabbling to find some grip.

This next one is taken from the Bank at Quarry Corner late in the day when a distinct dry line had appeared around the circuit, enjoy!

Conditions look atrocious mate, it's mad as it was a dry day here only 50 miles away. Well done Peter on organising a great meet!

Thanks Buddy,

The guys put on a really good display with well prepared cars and, as the photos show, they did our SportsItalia forum proud!

I've not checked total event receipts online but at about 3.30 they announced that they had taken 8K on the gate alone and someone had donated £500 at the event if I heard correctly. The announcer also said that government support had been reduced so they are now relying heavily on such events to fundraise.

Track conditions - Well there was less grip than I have ever experienced on a race track - which caused big challenges on the FWD Alfa. Slow on the straights as well due to wheelspin I think 'cos I only saw 107 (once) on the GPS HUD display on Avon rise. I presume everyone struggled as no-one passed on the 3 videoed laps.

The weather was disappointing as it had been warm and sunny in Gloucestershire the day before!

Hi Guys,

Have just received a 'Thank You' from the Organisers to all from SportsItalia who attended, particularly those who showed ther Bellas.

You'll be pleased to know that the total proceeds were £13,578 which is better than last year.

Passenger rides were very busy and so was the Autoslalom.

They'd like to see us back there next year I gather so put a memo in your diary. :) :) ;)
