Prob some stupid Qs but I have mislaid the docs for the ctek charger.
What mode do you set it to?
Is it safe with the boot closed and car under a cover?

That's an interesting on re boot closed and cover on; it is only a trickle charge and your battery should have a vent hose on it which would cope with a far quicker charge/discharge rate than the C-tek is ever going to give it. I'd say no problem but check the vent is properly connected, they have a habit of falling off the side of the battery (bit of superglue if it has)....

What battery do you have? When I fitted my Bosch I had to make up the hose using some aquarium flexihose. Maybe a little task for you.

Always leave my boot slightly open when I'm charging just to ensure any fumes can vent freely.

Bosch too...........not sure how to or where to place a hose so may just go with boot slightly open to be safe. Anyone on which mode to set on MXS 5.0?

It is hydrogen gas so it will go up!

Mine was/is a small plastic T block on the end of aquarium hose and when I changed batteries the new one said no vent but then had a hole on the side at the top where the previous one had the vent fitted? I simply unplugged it and glued it onto the new one, it is about a 4mm diameter hole on one end of the lid moulding.

It is a bit like this one, sometimes they are plugged, either way if yours does not have one fitted, if you fish around in the bay the car would have had a vent pipe from new and it may still be there...

How do you mean what mode? Car is not self explanatory? Or are you trying to do something else?

It'll decide itself. I pretty much recall you can cycle through bike, car, large car and cold. Then it just gets on with it. Maybe mine's different.

I used one with my QP V, under a cover with the boot closed for weeks on end. The car didn't burst into flames once and the car showed no signs of electrical problems during my ownership. Indeed, the 964 targa which replaced it is currently (sic) under a cover with a ctek in place. Though the front boot, where the battery is located, is slightly open under the cover.

Boots closed and covers on works for me. And I let the CTeks sort themselves out (in terms of settings).

Hi,

I have several sets of CTEK instructions, PM me your address and I'll send you one of my spare copies.

Kind regards,

Robin
