Custom made spacers

I had a set of spacers custom made here. I chose 15mm all round and installed the front ones tonight.

There is only one thing bothering me: due to the design of the hub lip of the spacer that has a small chamfer (see 2nd and 3rd pictures), there is a micro gap between the wheel and the spacer (last 3 pictures). Since the wheel still rests properly on the spacer's lip and there is no gap between the brake hat and the spacer (it is fully seated on the brake disc and on the lip), I don't think it is an issue. It is still a proper hub centric design.

I think it should not be a problem but I will double check that with the manufacturer tomorrow.

Pictures so you see what it looks like:

EDIT: corrected "conic base" by "chamfer" thanks to Maverick :)

Looking nice mate , don't quite understand your problem but as long as the wheel and hub and pulled tight together it should be ok , could the gap just be the chamfer on the edge of the hub ? Also a little cheeky, if you have no use for your old bolts can I have first dids or borrow them so I can get mine sent of for plating , will pay for all costs of course or give me a price . Cheers :)

Are just had a look at the pics again , if the centre part of the hub face is raised slightly than you have no problems as this is the matting face the lower part is just clearance (less surface contact area to throw out the concentricity) hope this makes sence

Yes it is! Sorry for my broken English, chamfer is specifically the word I needed! I corrected it in the thread.

I could but since I am in China it might not be cost effective to ship it back and forth. I'd rather source a new set for you and send it to you. It will be cheap compare to the UK for sure. The new ones I have have a 17mm head instead of a 22 but it doesn't change anything. So a set of similar ones with stock length would do. PM me if you want me to take a look tomorrow.

Is it 4200 bolts you need, maverick? I have a spare set, can deliver if needed.

Mav - I'm interested also. However, the stock bolt won't be long enough with a 15mm spacer - true? Also, I'd prefer a spacer that matches the outside diameter of the disc hub rather than the wheel hub and mates to it so the circumferences match. I'd also like anodised Aluminium rather than stainless. What do you think?

They are my originals from before I bought the SS ones from sprogs...I'll have a look tomorrow, take some photos. They would be good as a temporary set if sending some off for chromeing. I think they are 22mm - sorry, I missed that part of your post, maverick.

No worries, Chris. When I get round to sorting mine I'll get Sprogs or black ones. Can't see the point in re-chroming.

Are you thinking of the spacers Dave ,I think ally would be fine and yes anodising would help protect them ,longer bolts would be needed to

These are in aluminium alloy ;)
I think you don't make them in SS because of the weight. Yes, bolts have to be 32mm plus whatever thickness your spacer is. In my case about 47 48 mm

I will have the chamfer machined off, it should be done by next week. I'll post pictures when everything is installed.

When I removed them tonight, I measured the brake hat lip and the spacer lip. The brake hat lip is about 10mm, the current lip on the spacer is about 8mm and the chamfer about 2mm. Without the chamfer, it will be perfect: the spacer lip will be exactly the same as the stock lip.
By the way, the wheel hub is quite deep so a longer lip on the spacer would not be an issue as well. Just mentioning this in case someone needs the size :)
Cheers

If they fit well, I will ask the factory the price for a small run say 10 to 20 sets of 4 X 15mm spacers.
We could do a forum group buy if anyone is interested. I'll do it at cost. I will also check if they can provide 22mm bolts, that should be no problem.
If I send them all at the same place in the UK the price of the shipping would be reasonable, I guess about 10 to 15 GPB per set + local postage in the UK for the member that will dispatch it.
I guess for 10 to 20 sets, we could be be at around 85 GBP for the set (4 spacers and 20 bolts). It means a complete set with bolts in the UK for about 100 GBP + local postage, less if they give me a better price but for such a small run there is no guarantee...
Let me know if there is interest.

What are the bolts made from Ecara? I'd quite likely be interested in them if nothing else :)

I'd be interested in the spacers. I think I'd go with stainless bolts from sprogs though so wouldn't need bolts included.
