I *think* that the spacers generally fitted are UK made, actually, but I could well be wrong.

Checking fort the bolts. I have 17 or 18,but they probably have 22 as well.

EDIT: M20 it will be! This company does not have M22 handy and they can't get them for such a small volume.

That's correct, Chris. Hill Engineering manufacture the spacers themselves to an extremely high standard. Here's some blurb from their site on them:
"All Wheel spacers are not the same! - That's why the spacers that we manufacture are made to much higher, finer tolerances than the "run of the mill" spacers that you would find on your everyday car. To give you an example, all of the critical dimensions on our spacers are machined within 25 microns. That's half the thickness of a human hair! Those tolerances also apply to squareness & parallelism as well as concentricity of the spacer bore to boss. We challenge you to find a higher precision wheel spacer"

Sprogs' own words on his stainless bolts regarding strength (I know they are also hardened as part of the manufacturing process):
Hi,
tensile strength of the steel we only use is far stronger than the original bolts , check out custom 630 s/steel or as its more commonly known 17-4ph on the web. Its the carlsberg of the stainless world !! :)

First things first Roger: let me receive my set without the chamfer and install it.

Then I will take detailed pictures of the finish and try to grab some technical information: material used, etc... Then everybody will be able to think about it twice and decide if it is worth it or not, for them. Again, me making that choice for my car does not mean that everyone should make the same choice for theirs.

After that, we'll see if we can get enough orders to reach a decent price, I guess 20 sets will do just fine. I'll ask the price for 10 in case. We also need one volunteer to receive the sets and post it. Manufacturing and shipping will take about 10 days, so I'm not too worried. Again, we could also have someone that has testing capability receive one and test it if needs be.

Cheers,
Emmanuel

I am sure their products are state of the art but they are also very pricy. Do we need aeronautics grade spacers really, when the OEM bolts can fail on you as well? I am not criticizing your choice or that supplier in anyway, just challenging the idea of spending more for specs you don't need. For example, do you really need to spend the money for ADV wheels when you could get the same style for 1/10th of the price. Maybe not the same material but the same functionality with a minimum quality standard?
I am usually very demanding on quality but I guess I learned to settle for something that will work. That does not mean I will do compromises on safety or something else (which is why I always use premium tires for example), but sometimes I am looking for value, as long as I reach the standard (performance, safety, etc.) I was looking for.

So I think your arguments make perfect sense and are valid, and so is your decision making.

And I insist I don't know if these spacers will last 2, 5 or 10 years, the only thing I know is I have 4 years old China made parts on my other car that are doing well but I also know it is not a guarantee (I lived here for too long ;) ).

Hi Ecarca,

I would be interested as well. I am here in Bangkok, Thailand and when all is done and ready please kindly let me know. From reading some other threads, I was about to order from Hill Engineering as well but I sure will give yours a try. It seems you have got a reputable factory supplying your parts in China.

Thanks.

I'll let you know Pamisa. I'll post all updates here, so everyone can make their own choice: lower quality at factory price or top notch quality at its price. I guess I'll receive the revised spacers next week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.
Cheers

Cheapest spacers 5x108 with 67,1 mm hub, you buy to a Volvo XC90. I have bought several of them 15 mm 25 mm and 30mm in Alu.

5 X 108 is also working for some Ford but I don't know about Ford's hub though. Since they custom made mine, I assume it is not the same as Ford.

Good info about Volvo! I might be able to find standard ones from another factory then and it would be cheaper.

I received the updated one for test fitting. This time it is perfect:

Subtle difference but very nice :)

I tried to check these XC90 ones. Do they have holes for the 2 bolts head that are on the brake hub face of our car? I did not see it in the pictures but maybe they were standard pictures of the hub???
