Stop being stingy and buy the one you know you need.View attachment 48548
In the '80s I remember seeing MB1 (my initials) for sale at £4,300.
At the time I thought it was an absolutely insane sum of money. It was a lot of cash back then, a new Alfasud Sprint was £9,999, but if AN1 is worth £250,000, I suspect MB1 is the same.

I like the plate my car came with (although it was more relevant to Ian) M8 BLX, 8 being a lucky number and all that... M9 BLX is available so I suggested it to the missus... but she seems to think that is short for b0llox!!!
Sadly, both V8 BLX and V12 BLX are not available.
It can't have been MB1. That plate was owned for many years by veteran crooner Max Bygraves (showing my age, now) who eventually sold it to a cherished number dealer when he emigrated in 2005. Mercedes Benz had tried to buy it from him numerous times over the years, he always refused their ever-increasing offers which were well into the tens of thousands. It was last for sale at £175k.
BO10GNA was one I fancied off the DVLA but they are saving it for a future auction
