Loz knew a firm that did refurbs, am not sure if they still do them, it may be on a thread somewheres or Conaero remembers, could be a forum spare, like the bolts....and or handbrake shoes!!!!

P

I've kept mine for this very reason. If we do find another firm able to do a refurb, I'm happy to have my old one passed around.

would be good to know the cost, but at 250 for a new one, it would need to be a competitive price

Not such an expensive Fix anymore , the Alfa selespeed pump is the same unit , usually new ones on ebay for around the £250 mark , dont forget to plug the pipes when you disconnect , saves bleeding

Worth checking the brake switch first( its on the brake pedal ) , they tend to stick with lack of use or if the car is a bit of a garage queen , this oactivates the whole system

All I can say is change the relay and give the pump a tap. If you don't get a whirring when you unlock and open the drivers door, and you have fluid, it's your F1 pump.

Thanks for help guys, trick with hammer doesnt work, car was in the middle of the city, and I must towed it to mechanic it was not easy with blocker rear wheels :( and yes it is probably F1 pump because when I open the door there is only silence.

Have you stamped on the footbrake half a dozen times( they tend to stick) , it could be the brake switch at the top of the pedal , or a fuse, or the relay , pumps do tend to arc internally and end up blowing relays or fuses before they finally burn themselves out

I presume that was much less than replacing the pump, so that's a good result!
