Formula dynamics drive by wire enhancement module for QP V

Good morning everyone.

I was thinking of purchasing the formula dynamics drive by wire enhancement module for QP Sport GT S.

I'm not usually in favour of modifying my cars especially one as good as my QP but have heard good things about this modification.

Does anybody here have any opinions or experience with this product ?

I'm really happy with the car as it is so am really not sure if I should fit this module to my QP.

Thanks.

I have driven two QP's and a Gransport with this added...Do it...It really does make a different and well worth it. YOu can set it at different levels of aggressiveness I believe but sure someone who has had it done will know more.......Someone was selling one on here a few weeks ago I believe.

I would do it though.

Just do it. 5th year on my 4200, using only the most aggressive mode.

Can you elaborate on the difference it makes to the drive ?
Also can you tell me where the switch in the car is located ?
Is it cheaper to buy from the U.S. or the UK ?

difference is on throttle response and mainly on gear changes. And almost only in sport mode. I placed the switch under the edge of the glovebox but trust me you will never need It. You ll love the rawness of the gearchanges, combining It with reducing the clutch wear. As for where to buy..please someone help, cause i got It through the group buy We made in the past. Hope this helps.

Have it on mine, non-agressive mode (default one) - totally worth it! As my mechanic said - it is now really a 4-door Ferrari. I bought mine during extra winter discount sale - new one right from Formula Dynamics for 1150$ I think including delivery.

I understand how the Sprint booster is supposed to work by amplifying the voltage so that in effect the voltage for "planted on the floor" is reached without needing to plant the acceletaror. This translate to more agreesive throttle response in that you go from idle to full throttle with less ledal travel (but there could then be a dead zone after this where nothing further happens because it's already on max)

So what does the FD DBW module do differently since I presume that the effect is somewhat similar? - More throttle per unit of pedal travel. Does it get round the auto change up when I hit 7K revs for instance? What happens to the gears...

What I'm trying to get a feel for (without ever having had the experience) is what is it that changes and why is that good? Perhaps I just have to suck it and see.....

Has any one fitted the module to an MC-Shift car, as I assume the real benefit will only be realised on an auto?

The DBWEM effectively provides a re-map by changing the way the car responds to combination of throttle pedal position, revs, butterfly opening etc.

So for example it can send a signal to the TCU that the engine is at 5.5k (and force the ultra fast gear shift) when, in fact, the engine is only at 3k

Similarly the default map may decide to open the butterfly slowly, but the DBWEM can fake the signals to make the ECU open it fast.

At least that's my understanding. Make sense?

Yah that's it. As said you get fast gearchanges when at high rpm and full throttle as standard, it just tricks the gearbox ecu to do the same at lower rpm etc.
This only applies to the Cambiocorsa/MC Shift, it's nothing to do with the GT or QP with the slush box ZF auto.
