So does my 2006 QP Sport GT (cambiocorsa) have a similar thing by default? The literature claims 35% faster gear changes.

Yah that's it. As said you get fast gearchanges when at high rpm and full throttle as standard, it just tricks the gearbox ecu to do the same at lower rpm etc.
This only applies to the Cambiocorsa/MC Shift, it's nothing to do with the GT or QP with the slush box ZF auto.
