I do think Red is probably one of the few colours that can actually get away with it, darker grey/silver wheels look good to - the trouble is I have the 15-Spoke Design alloys so it's had to see the lovely Red callipers hiding behind them, with the Black wheels I think they stand out more and like people have said I could change them back before selling etc, I just want to knock of few years off my aging beauty - an ABSO exhaust system and some look at me wheels haha not really...

It's quite rare to see on a 15 year old car but here's an example on a Spyder.

Like that.

Don't paint your wheels black they will look terrible. Get metalic black, that s what ive got . This is a silver and black 50/50 mix . It looks similar to Grigio Mercury Maser colour but a touch darker .

If you ask for gunmetal you could get anything . Its like saying can you paint my car blue please.

Mine are satin charcoal and look pretty good. I'll be going satin gunmetal next time they need a re-furb.

And on a red car, excuse the model, but the wheels are very similar to Facelift 4200:

Your multi spoke wheels are quite intricate and need a light colour to show the spokes clearly and the wheels at their best imo. With such a classic car and red paint has to be original or a modern hue of silver.

I also have an original set, it just wont seem like "MY" car with them fitted. lol

Stealth on your car is a fine *fine* thing. I recall the Centenary. When we all finally parted company it was a wrench to look in the mirrors and not see the posse :(

A fine Posse it was too. It's on my bucket list to do again one day. :)

For what it's worth,
with your car being red, the black doesn't keep the purity of the car's lines.
It works with a black car quite well (in the case of the beautiful 3200, very well indeed), but for your red car I would definitely stick with the 'virgin' silver or very close to it.
Apart from anything else 'virgin' cars are probably worth more at re-sale (if such a horrid thing were to happen)!
