Don't paint your wheels black . They make them look smaller , and you cant see the tyres

I was planning on getting the tyres painted red though... haha it's either original silver alloy colour or a dark variant of silver/grey.

Bit of a thread resurrection, but I've just had mine done from silver to black with a touch of silver flake - to match the nero carbonio paintwork. They look absolutely stunning! Agree with the gloss black - they can look cheap, but all you need to make them look just right is a touch of metallic IMO. Looks way more modern and really highlights the calipers. Silver just looked a bit busy and dated I felt. Photos don't do it justice.

Before and after (can't really see the metallic effect but looks awesome in person) the chap did an excellent job of matching the bodywork:

I've got a set of black centre caps with silver tridents and some chrome black nut covers so will be putting them on once I've had the wheels re-balanced.

Not for me...but each to their own... seven spokes are just too heavy to pull off dark colours.

Grigio mercury I think is the best colour for alloys. Although I may be biased.

I changed my 4200 alloys to it and my GTS GM coloured alloys.

Nero Carbonio on mine too, although I do have another set of original alloys to appease the purists! ;)

Not saying your a bad driver but if you kerb them (in black) the wounds will look twice as bad. the 'Wheel Specialist' offer an alternative which is any colour on the outer face (but preferably a silver/gunmetal) with black gloss to inner alloy. This actually opens up the alloys and gives it a totally different look. Again better on alloys with larger spoke apertures. And good for all the lazy T**ts out there that cannot be ar*ed to clean their wheels properly.
My dad's Lexus has the mirrored alloy finish as Matt was showing before and I think that also looks great...........No to black for me also!

They do look very dark/heavy in the photos, but in person with the metallic they definitely do not. Really make the calipers stand out and the silver hubs. I think they look better in black, but it wasn't until I saw it in person that I thought so. Photos always look naff. Before you recolour them, really encourage seeing some in person. Makes a LOT of difference.

Must admit though I fully intend to lower the car a bit as it does seem to make the arches more prominent.

Hi, I thought about black on my signorina in rosso when I refurbed mine but decided on anthracite with a slight fleck for a little sunshine sparkle on the outer alloy and a black gloss on the inner. Hope it helps you decide. Cheers
