You don't need the Ghibli Ho Yin. Keep the GTS for high days and holidays and road trips. Keep the Noble, just because. And then buy whatever she likes for the family. We have a Volvo XC60, before that was a Volvo XC90, before that, a Touareg (although it was an R50....).

Personally, i'd have a 530/535d touring with all the toys. They drive great, carry everything and hold value well considering. Get a good spec one with the huge sunroof and head-up display etc. All the daily use family car anyone could ever need.

My wife sounds similar to yours. Doesn't really spend, comes from an educated, steady background. They're worth keeping hold of, the alternatives could bankrupt us!

Yup. Very sensible.

That are my thoughts as well.

Should note that at no point is she saying to me sell it. But if you don't use it why on earth would you keep it.

Going to go and browse for a decent family car that isn't a Masser. And can be used as a cheap run about. So I don't have to worry when she parks it next to the shopping trolleys at the supermarket as it is the closest space.

I've just had this emailed to me. Not sure whether it is of any use.
You did say you were looking at Volvo's.

I agree with what Hoyin said in his original post. If you or she is embarrassed by having something nice in front of her friends then she needs new friends.

You work hard, achieve your **** off and have two masers in the house. Feel proud and if your friends aren't happy for what you have then they are not your friends...

Just read the whole thread in one sitting and feel blessed. My wife didn't know what a Maserati was when she met me, now she's after and SLK or C, loves MotoGP and works for a kiwi called Bruce.

I think she's changed somewhat... or shall I say educated.

Well done Martin! I'll get some tips from you next time I see you! :)

Well I'm growing old disgracefully
Two ex wife's now have a French girlfriend who thinks my petrolhead ways are mint and enjoys everything from Minis to the Maserati
Plus she looks after me
Fresh baquet and brioche for breakfast
Life is good and coming from a automatic Hyundai she has amazed me how well she can drive the 4200
She knows the rules too start up and sport mode never to touch the auto button
Nice to know we're all different though.

Mrs MarkMas seems to like the QP, both driving it and as a passenger, although she can be a little hesitant about going to some places/people in it, in case they are upset.
She has started to show a tendency to want to sit in the back while I drive - I fear a chauffeur's cap may be in my future at this rate.

Tis gone. Deal done and dusted. My mate is picking it up this weekend.

He sold his BMW, was about to buy a Jag XE. Convinced him to take my Ghibli. :p

A bit sad. But oh well. Right what do I get to replace it?? Hehehee.

4 doors, cheap and lairy. Just to annoy everyone.

My nephew just bought a Jag XFR-S, 4 doors and 550bhp of lairy-ness plus a boy racer boot spoiler to annoy everyone - it's nuts!
