GranSport exhaust mods - picture heavy thread

Simon, the H-pipe will give more of a bass tone to the exhaust with some pops and bangs on the over run. The X-pipe is much more raspy and higher pitched, but will give more pops and bangs. I prefer the lower tone to the rasp, loudness-wise I'd say it's about the same having had some time to measure against Benny's car in Le Mans. I changed the manifolds to Euro spec decat manifolds and have Larini 200 cell sports cats. I should be at the next Ace meeting so maybe you can hear it then, or feel free to pop over and hear it if you're in the area.
FWIW I rarely switch mine out of Sport mode, even when in my road. The car can be driven at residential road speeds on a light throttle without making too much noise, but it's definitely louder in stealth mode than the modified GS boxes as sported by Benny & Matt's cars.

Robert do you have the Larini H or X pipe? What was the reason for your choice over the other (either H or X)?

BTW Simon, should you want one, I can get either an X or H/pipe to you within 3 days as we have one of each 'in stock' at the manufacturers.

Simon,
I have the Larini X-Pipe which is slightly different in tone to the H-Pipe, the X-Pipe gives louder cracks, pops and bangs on overun, this is a brief clip of mine at Brunty on the thread..!!
Cheers

I can recommend Benny's X-pipe and he does a great line in customer service :)

I'm new to the forum and just left a deposit on a 2007 Gransport down here in Australia, I've watched this video like 40 times... *******...

Heheh, congrats on your future purchase. You can make your new car sound just like mine with a little help (and a few £!)

Thank you Mark for your kind offer - if I'm in the area it would be good to catch up again and see and hear your car.

Really interesting to read your advice regarding the differences between the X-pipe and H-pipe. I think if I'm to do it then the H-pipe is what I am after sound wise.

Cheers Mark, Simon

Thank you Benny appreciate this - I'll continue to consider this option. I want to take the car out at the weekend to hear it as it is before I make my mind up if I want a little extra sound/more bass.

My Spyder has one of Bennys early experiments, it is no where near as loud as some on here but has a lovely sound and some lovely pops on the over-run. Love it

Benny & Matt can explain what it has

I should be picking up my new GoPro late tomorrow, so will have a play and post some video footage at the weekend. If I mount the camera on the rear of the car it should give you an idea of what it sounds like.

the go pro won't give the end result in sound as it should be. It has filtres to prevent from all wind, air, water etc (as an action camera), and therefore it cuts a little from the ear experience. But of course you will have a good sample.
