Gransport versus 3200GT

Yep, same running costs as a F355 but at a fraction of the initial purchase price. The fact is that if the going rate for a 3200 was £40K most people would not baulk at the running costs. BUT if you look at the prices of 3200's outside of the UK you start to see that it is the Brits that have the issue with the cars and kill the second hand value.
The way I look at it we are very lucky to be able to pick these cars up for a song and the running costs are not that bad for an exotic with it's levels of rarity. Yes, a 4200 is less to run than a 3200 and a GS is in turn less to run than a 4200 but that is the same for F355, 360 430 and pretty much any marque of note that you may buy. The key is to buy what you like and can afford to buy and run - otherwise disappointment is guaranteed.

Franco Auto do the conversion, or at least used to. I was working in the Hague a couple of years ago, I think their garage is around there. Bit of a trek, but there must be a ferry from the UK to Rotterdam, then it's a half-hour drive at most.

The 3200 is now back in my hands after spending a week with the 'pro's in Poole'. Collected Friday and drove back the 90 miles to Abingdon with the grin firmly placed back on my face. Discs and pads all round, new hand brake cable and shoes, oil change, new plugs, throttle pedal problem cured, full valet. I know it wasn't cheap but the service received was worth every penny. Happy days !!
