Mate of mine has just bought one a Vanquish, he was looking at a GTS or Strad but then went and got his man maths abacus out and spent nearly double on a Vanquish!

That is also stunning. Again with a V12 its in a different league. Love the interior. Does he want to come to Llandow

All this talk of AM..............!!!!!
Think I would be happy with a V8 vantage 4.3, I am more of a dawdler than speed demon anyhow...

In the sense that they both have 4 wheels and 2 doors and are coupe shaped? :)

Possibly - always loved the shape and if I was a gasillionaire I would be chasing a DB5 !!!

Just looking at what is the best I can achieve with £40k for a GTS against AM and comparing year for year etc against mileage and price - not sure I really need 4 seats - only ever had 1 person in back of 4200 and that was just a jolly.
Saying that I looked at a Ghibli at the weekend - Will give it serious thought when I get back from Sri Lanka / Maldives - I am actually enjoying driving the Fiat 500 !!!! And my bike fite in the back easily!!!!

He has a point, they do look similar, but I like both. the i8 is a very nice car up close! too expensive though, IMHO.

Maybe a bit in the back sway line but when you see both in the flesh there really isn't any resebalance. I also like the i8. Drove one and was very impressed.

Not seen a DB11 in the flesh yet. So I can't comment, but I definitely think there are similarities from the pics.

I've been in and around both cars and can't say I thought they looked similar. The i8 has got too many futuristic angles. Either way, both are great looking cars. I didn't think the DB11 was as pretty as an Aston should be. I love the i8 and would get one if it was going to be my daily driver.

When I drove the i8 it felt like a great car to drive everyday and still remain special. V12 Vantage then for the weekend blasts.

I wish mine had alcantara seats actually. It's probably the one bit I wish was different. I've never heard of that kit and I had a look on PH and they're bandying around the 13k figure for it without the fitting! On the same thread there's a shady picture of the car with the replacement splitter and it's hardly noticeable, certainly not GT12 looking (not that I'd want the bloody spoiler on any car). Whilst having 600 bhp and a raucous racket appeals to my childish sensibilities, it's mental money and as it is I can't keep up with a 2CV if there's even a sniff of rain. It's made me wonder how people get on with proper big stuff.

Iain, get yourself to Dick Lovett in Bristol as they have one for sale in the showroom. It is just an amazing looking machine. Can't drive it on the road though and most tracks in the U.K. It's too loud for.

Watch this.....i so want to drive it just once...
