1 month into ownership (2 weeks of which were with a California T) as my 30 was in for an extended service.
I can report back that- The N/A Cali sounds better than the T (markedly). The tone is better (I didn't like the turbo) , and pops and crackles much more pronounced. I don't know where the 64 bhp goes, but there is no real world difference in speed. ( even published figures say 0.1 to 60 difference). It's personal opinion but I prefer the look both interior and exterior of the 2013 version. Aside perhaps from the front wings.
The tech inside is similar- except the T I had didn't have a CD player.
I know I had made the right decision when I was pleased to give back the T and get mine back- the delivery day said the NA one sounded way better....
They gave it to me hoping I would be keen to upgrade but it had the opposite effect- I was left feeling like I had an extra 50k in my pocket and a car I loved which is unusual for me.
Also the red/ tan T was too much for me- very in your face.
I have had 4 adults in it on several occasions and my daughter in the child seat loves it-
So all negative comments about back seat size unfounded.
I can guarantee all occupants have had legs!
The convertible option has just been fantastic lately.
The only downside (for me)- is the inability to change the exhaust setup due to a 2 year warranty..
But that will probably save me 5k. It sounds a lot better after getting it back which is odd!
The only other car I would quite like alongside it is a gunmetal grey or black strad with a mental exhaust set up.
Will have to see how the next few months goes- and if I can convince my wife that it would be a good car for her to use for work
