Probably the worst kept secret on here:
A massive thank you to Voicey. I am so glad he inspected it and highlighted some issues. All cars have them, its just better to know about them in advance and make an informed opinion. Although fine now, she will need a clutch and some front tyres in the next shortly. I was going to walk away but managed to get the cost of the clutch knocked off the sale so I felt that I achieved and excellent deal.
So how do I feel....a kid on Xmas morning. Yesterday MAF commented I didn't look excited. In truth it was apprehension holding that back. For me its a massive financial commitment and all I wanted to do was get it home and detail it as the surface was covered in contaminate. I washed and then used my clay mitt thats been sitting in the garage....WOW, its brilliant. The paintwork is like glass now. Luckily its been SupaGaurded so I think that helped.
All the wheels are unmarked and hardly any stone chips, I think its been redone recently.
Interior is unmarked and even the bolster on these very difficult to get in to seats are excellent.
So how is it?
I am not going to compare it against a 4200/GS as they are just so different animals and having had 3 4200 derivatives I love them dearly.
What doesn't come across in the pics is just how menacing the thing is. Its huge and just looks evil and that its about to pounce even when standing still.
Interior, well, I am not a fan of Alcantara but I must admit it does suit the car and adds to the overall feel, so yes, I do like it. I may fit the cage but we will see.
Drive. WOW!
I was not expecting it to me much different to past Masers, GTS included but the bottom line it is.
The power is savage, the turn in amazes and the clutch change is epic. In a word its hardcore and a progression from anything I have had before.
Negatives, the exhaust. I may have sticking valves as I had heard that the Strad in RACE is epic but its not that loud it makes a lovely sound but I suppose I have been spoilt with modified exhausts of past. It will be rectified in time.
Overall, smitten!
