Thoroughly enjoyable and very well organised. I bumped into Roger and Phil and saw Peter briefly at a distance, not sure who else was there. Some pics -

Lunch was rather nice, eaten whilst watching the cricket match. I'm not a fan of cricket at all so had no idea what was going on!

Great to see you again Mark, I saw Peter as we arrived who looked to be in a hurry heading toward the exit! I also bumped into a QP owner I can't for the life of me remember but we met at the Orchard a while ago....

Then the rare opportunity to see the Getty library. It's a private collection of old, rare and extremely valuable books and manuscripts collected by Paul Getty. Absolutely amazing to see a manuscript from the mid-7th Century, first editions of famous books, letters from Samuel Pepys and a Psalter owned by Anne Boleyn! Some pics with labels on some to give you an idea of what you're looking at:

BTW Mark, I heard you leaving, didn't see you because you booted it down the dirt track and left a cloud of dust and some nice pops and crackles :D

Told you it was good! It was very interesting to see the private and personal collection of a 20th Century collector and philanthropist rather than the contents of a stately home. The commentary from the curator was a fascinating insight into what interested Paul Getty and how he collected as a result.

Superb organisation. The best bit was seeing the Porsche in front of me, and the Ferrari behind me, being waved into the ordinary car park while my Maserati was shown into the inner sanctum.

I'm no big cricket fan either but the match was gripping enough; the last over was full of surprises and it was such a quintessentially English setting with whites, rolling countryside, thatched pavilion, and gentle applause.

HR Owen might have achieved what they set out to do; they've changed my opinion of the Ghibli. Having the time, and lack of showroom pressure, to give it a good look over was good. It's always left me sort of 'meeeh' before, but now I'm interested in them and will be watching their used prices.

Just home now after a great day. Picks from me are the same as above...so will check to see if I have anything special.

HR Owen did a splendid job organising everything including the Jamie Oliver catering, bar, Skaleletric, tours, match and over 130 Maserati. They finished off with a 'drone' camera/film of all the cars lined up...will post the link when released.

Afternoon ended by a screening of the Italian Job and as we were the last to leave a few corporate goodies, some wine and other buts...shame I could not have sneaked a couple of the Maserati director chairs and umbrellas.

Now carrying a spare wheel for the Modena trip in the boot....that thing has travelled the country.

Who's the bianco Fuji gransport? Seen it around a few times.

Looks like a great day, shame I was so tied up with calls and family duties. Glad you enjoyed it Phil, I think your lot would have got more out of it than my 2 year old. : )

Echo all the comments above - a great event, superbly run and a perfect way to celebrate the marques centenary.

What was fascinating for me, seeing them all together, was how different they look in different colours.

I spent many months looking for my QP and saw many many cars in that time. I remember trying to decide which colours I liked and why, but spread over months and in differing weather it was hard to be clear.

Yesterday it was fascinating to see a black QP parked alongside a dark blue one and they both looked so different; each colour brought out different characteristics of the design. I wish I'd had this opportunity to see them together before my search!

Agree, some colours suit these cars some really don't but then again that is all personal taste and not factual!
