We all know the answer to "what is better than owning a Maserati?"

So in a state of delirium when temperatures here soared to 18C here I added to the fleet.
I have joined the band of enthusiasts ( masochists?) when one is not enough.
Bought without seeing the car and a couple of exterior photographs as it hadn't been on the market long enough to take pictures.
Usually not the way to buy a car but geography involved and having bought the first one in the same way I have complete faith it will be as good as described.
Now that it has been removed from his stock list for sale I will put my hand up to buying it.
Many thanks Richard for your efforts so far and look forward to collecting her and driving 400+ miles North soon with the top down.
Zagago Spyder was what I started looking for a few years ago but couldn't find one in the specification or condition I wanted so bought the 4200 instead.
Condition of this one made it a no brainer for me and I decided in 2 minutes I wanted the car.
Can't post photos at the moment but maybe Richard will have some in due course.
Happy days!

Like you Stewart, I've always appreciated the timeless beauty of these undervalued "marmite" cars, and always enviably wanted a good one. This looks like the best one I've seen for sale that I can recall with an impeccable history to boot and one of the best colour combos.....can't wait to see her in the flesh!

Oh my, that's lovely! I'd certainly like one of these one day, but I only have garage space for the GS.

Son took a look at the pictures and said "really"
Not everyone's cup of tea but different and whether it has 2 or 4 wheels I like different.
Other bonus is not needing an SD2/3 to work on the car especially when nearest is over 200 miles away.
Going to have to find a garage for it though for the winter especially.
Still got too many cars I want to own or try so maybe next year I chop in for a GT or a GS or an Aston but then maybe I will fall in love totally and keep her..

Well done Stewart lovely car and thank you for buying it so I can stop trying to work out in my head justification to buy it myself!

If you do decide to chop it in next year please keep me in mind.

Very nice example well bought sir

I very nearly took a punt on this

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-MAS...E-NO-RESERVE-/162131886135?nav=WATCHING_ENDED

I liked the look of that as well but being 600 miles away and buying through the bay of doom I could see potential issues and when Richards car came up it was just a lot easier even if potentially it cost more.
Then again if the black one needed anything then there might be nothing in it.
That one might be a really good car too but I am fairly certain it will not be better than the one I bought.

To be honest Robin after your post just before this car came up about how much you liked them I thought I may have been in a queue behind you! As it turned out despite my expressing an interest first thing in the morning someone was out that morning to inspect and was seriously interested as well.
Will certainly let you know if I decide to move on to pastures new.

Ermmm, just remember you need to drive past me first!

Nice one Stewart. I love it. You need to get in touch with Ted - you may have met him at Cairnie, he has a Ferrari F430. He's just completing a total nut and bolt concourse restoration of a Spyder which will be on the road shortly. There's nothing he doesn't know about them.

Crazy!!

Cheers Athol.
Your left hooker rekindled my interest in the era and as you know was sorely tempted with the Karif but I would rather pay a premium for a rust free car rather than have the work and cost of trying to attach new metal to rust and that was really the selling point with this car.
Will try and make contact with him.
Learning curve again is going to be vertical!
Just trying to organise flight to Manchester for next week and fingers crossed for dryish weather for run home.
Roof will be down a lot more than up in my ownership!

Daft initial question but running "old" Italan bikes does this one need fuel additive or is it happy on unleaded?
A bottle of Wurth fuel additive in my hand luggage may cause a bit of excitement in airport security!
