I blame the heatwave!

Well done Stu, you will enjoy the open air even with our shot summers.

Hi Stewart,
Had a Saab aero convertible for over 10 years and loved the car.
Roof was down all year round including mid winter in -5C!
New car will be used properly. But maybe not over winter given all the salt on the roads up here!

I suspect that the car is new enough to not require additive however I wouldn't take my word for it!! Ewan or Dicky may be able to confirm. My car was 1982 and the smaller, Italian only 2l version so not at all similar !

Pop by Glasgow on your way up the road, I'd love to see it. If I see Ted tomorrow at Knockhill, I'll get his number for you.

Congratulations on your new purchase, beautiful!

All Biturbos from around 1988 onwards are fine to run on unleaded with no modifications required.

My Saab convertible is my daily, and the roof is mostly down if it's not raining. Sub zero winter driving on a starry night, or when it's snowing is just amazing!

Right, now I'm saving up for a Zagato... biturbo Spyder, or if I'm super lucky, the Aston AR1 as well.

I have to say, the Zagato is not for me but well done on adding a second trident to your collection - you've made me and many others jealous!
Long may the summer continue for you

With you on the winter starry night on a country road with no street lights.

Always loved the late model Biturbos ever since seeing a Spyder in France on the way back from Le Mans in the early 90's. Much more interesting that the usual BMW 3 series. So bought a '89 2.8 Spyder in the late 90's and ran it for a few years but it was only an E rater than an SE as I couldn't find one.

However got an 04 Spyder from Dickie's earlier this year. If this had been around I would have probably have changed my mind and gone older! Still keep scanning the internet for a any of the late 222 or 2.24v in moments of insanity, like you need more than one Maserati.

Thanks for this. You may be getting lots of stupid questions fired your way as I try to find out a bit more about the models!

I know someone who wanted yours!!! Missed it by a few hours...

I saw the advert early in the morning and knew right away I needed to have the car. Considered , as you know, and missed out on a couple of Karifs but the condition of this was such I felt chances of finding anything as good again or better was slim. Understated colour which I liked.
I emailed Richard to say I was interested but was away from phone reception until nearer noon by which time someone had already arranged to go out and view. I called just after they left and did a deal with Richard.
I just was aware that if anyone was interested in a Spyder they would certainly be interested in this one.
Maybe I could find a cheaper one but in all truth I would rather pay a premium to get a car needing nothing done now or in the immediate future.
Was fully aware of the comments on here about snoozing and losing.
You bought one yet? ;-)

That looks fantastic. Buying the best example possible is always the best option. Plenty of people on here, myself included, will gladly take this off your hands at similar money should you change your mind.

Have a safe run mate. Weather not looking the best for your early part but should dry up for you part way up.

Cheers Greg.
Looking wet over to Carlisle then improving further North.
Might take old road instead of A9 and get top down again today.
