Top gear was the 4.7 the one that Sommi has bought is a 4.2 so the first edition of the GTS......4.2's from car dealers start around 26.5k so this one although private at 22k looks a great buy as the miles is lower than the current dealer ones as well...

Morning All
I agree I may have had a good bargain here.
The top gear car was the 4.7 QP GTS. I have the 4.2 but looking to make it louder.
I have read through the entire thread on Exhaust modification on here where the x-pipe and h-pipe have been installed and debated.
But I did not find anyone with a QP get them. I hope it can be done though.

Funnily enough was just watching that wattie. It's a nice video. Sounds good out of the box though imo.

It can certainly be done - plenty of them get modified in Germany...

Welcome to the world of QP ownership!

Agree with you mate. The larini sounds great and an improvement but the factory version was not to be sneezed at.

Thanks for your responses but I am very gutted to say the car has been sold to another buyer despite me having first dips. I have been informed by text of this very heart breaking news by a text stating that someone wired money straight away last night. No mention of this in any correspondence I have had this morning with him today including receiving all history and Mot in email.
I am seriously offended as well. I had made an effort to rush leaving family and all plans to visit yesterday and make sure I have the first look. Even after that and confirming last evening I am taking the car all is lost. I had requested last evening and today the bank details from the seller and yet received nothing. I would have transferred the deposit money right away.
I believe it might be a dealer not worried about an inspection or condition who would do such a thing as they only plan to sell it off for a profit.
I am very disappointed.

I'm very sorry to hear that, dreadful behaviour

It looks like there's no way back on this, all you can do and look out for another one and don't let this put you off. Hopefully this will be the last bit of bad luck you will have with a Maserati

Shame but I guess if someone was willing to pay without an inspection then the seller realised that carried no risk.

At least when you buy for a dealer, you can pay a deposit on the spot and then there is a legal contract.

I am truly gutted for you...This was my worry......and I think it does sound like a dealer of some sorts......Suppose all the seller was interested in was getting the money in his bank account........Not comfort for yourself though......Wish I hadn't mentioned it to you now. Sure you will find yourself the right car though.

If it was a dealer expect to see it up for 28k plus soon...

Thats all right. I have no one but myself to blame. But cannot/ could not buy a car of this level without an inspection. If its gone, its gone. I will keep looking. May be the red sport gt will do for now. If only I could get the dealer to come down a bit more. That seems like the next best option given I was tempted to go for that initially.
Oh the temptation.

Sorry to hear about this......lack of honesty from the seller.....perhaps something is wrong with the car hence the sale to someone who will only find out too late!!

Cheers Wattie

You are right. I need to calm down.
I have heard about Richard. Will give him a call tomorrow. He currently has my dream car the QP GTS 4.7 with red interior which I adore. But its just priced outside double my budget :)

I have just put my own car up for sale. So I do have time.

I guess you are over analysing it. Guy wires money on the day to buy a car brand which can be hard to sell. What would you do?

Well I wouldn't buy a Maserati without getting it checked over.....one bill could be huge!

Seems our forum member had a sale agreed on these terms, so why continue to see other buyers if theres nothing knowingly wrong with the car? Just another example of someone not being totally honest re the car....or honouring an agreed sales terms.

Stinks.
Cheers Wattie

Guess the only way around this is to place a small deposit at time of agreement and get something in writing....rather than a hand shake which mean f*** all nowadays.

Buying and selling privately is always a minefield hence the reason I don't change my car that often. Real PIA.
