Well after a long day yesterday I picked up another little piece of old school English sports car heritage. One goes out.....one comes in. This one is a 500 that was fully rebuilt with everything refurbished except for the paint. My plan is to respray it maybe something like Apple Candy Red as I'm not a fan of flat/bright reds. Also I think it would make it a bit more 'TVR' IMHO. Need to take my time and think about it but all your thoughts are welcomed

This is my old 400 btw which looks very different in those lights to sunlight. It is being sold by the dealer that took it in against the Vantage I bought. I am not related at all and not involved in the sale and it is no longer my car.

The interior, its that factory or has that been retrimmed?

The whole interior is new and custom so not stock/OEM. Pretty much the whole car is new or fully refurbished short of new paint. Might get it resprayed Candy Apple Red or similar possibly.

It was a lot of work and money spent by the 2nd owner about 18 months to 2 years ago. Most of the pics of the before, during and after are here:

The more I look at it, the more and more I like the red. Give those wheels the 'grigio mercury' treatment though.

Red is good and never liked those wheels. Friend had a 500. He kept a sponge in the footwell and lost lots of hair when driving in the rain, but he could shell a walnut with his butt cheeks from the added exercise.

Might go SP12 wheels I think which are bigger, lighter stronger with better options for tyres than the stock wheels. As you say in grigio mercury.

I was supposed to go to look at this 450 Supercharged Chimaera this week but it is not ready to view/drive yet. This is wearing the SP12 alloys as well. It is not on the market yet but being sold shortly as the owner is building a new Chimaera with Sportmotive Evolution chassis and Chevvy LS4 motor with around 700bhp and a Sagaris interior.

Loving the seats Dean.....Not seen that design before. If you ever need me to look after the Vantage while you drive the TVR just let me know. Always here to help...

Mine wasn’t sadly.. 3 new engines in a year! My 2 year old Griff 500 also needed a top end rebuild. The only reliable TVR I had was a 400SE wedge.. go figure
