How long is a piece of string?

There are a few threads on this subject.

I've just renewed mine with Classic Line - they weren't the cheapest but their overall package suits my needs.

Where do you buy your insurance? is there a particularly cheap company out there?

Most cheap companies don't touch Maserati and most of the websites require you to input everything until it tells you that on the last page. Aviva and Endsleigh work with Maserati but many others will to.

Cheap is not always best - and cheap for one is not necessarily cheap for all - insurance really is a post code lottery. Two years ago I moved 2 miles up the road changing my postcode from CR0 to CR6, it made zero difference on the Mas, wifes Mini, daughter's mini was £50 increase and other daughters 10 year old Peugeot was increased by £250! work that out.
My first year with Aviva was less than £500 fully comp - this year with e-sure it was <£400, Comparethemeerkat quoted up to £3000.

The best advice is shop around, some companies offer good service - others not so, truth is unless you need their services for a claim.....................

I'm going through the mill of insurance quotes for the Mas and the van and the van is proving a real mare! I have seats and windows in the back and they are all running away from it...

I've just spoken to A-Plan who had the Mas last year and they have been unbelievably helpful, both for the car and van, I have to say they used Hiscox to underwrite the car last year and it is the most comprehensive policy I've ever had. I expect the Maserati will be cheaper to insure than the van this year! In fact I know it will be...

Oh yes, another fly in the ointment is an RM1 postcode as this is a blacklisted postcode because of all the youths splatting themselves on the ring road every weekend; nothing to do with me but I have to prop up their claims!

I was wondering where this thread would come up, every car related forum I have ever been on has the question raised at some time or other.

Got my Spyder added to my existing complex policy (6 cars) for £325, a grand total of £11 more than the Qp which is worth a quarter of the value of the Spyder. Insurance is a weird space best entered with thick skin and big wells to paddle through all the **** they throw at you.

Mas is re-insured from next Sunday so MOT on MOnday week and ready for the Christmas bash!

More than I wanted to pay but it is back with Hiscox through A-Plan but this means it is insured for any driver (+ 30) throughout Europe fully comp which means my co-pilot Dem is fully insured on the Centenary trip and anyone else for that matter :)

Yep, it really is a gold standard policy, unlimited mileage, almost unlimited continental cover too (max 6 months combined), guaranteed valuation and even the excess is covered in all eventualities up to £750 over the year. Amazing things like travel expenses if you lose your licence through topping out on points!

Adrian Flux did mine. Only pay £300 fully comp with business use.

That is cheap, Ill be trying them I think.

I was using RH Specialist Insurance, my GTS was £505 with them which I thought was great.

The 02 Spyder then cost me over £600 which was not so great.

I use RH and as discussed previously the Spyder is nearly half that amount

I went Direct Line in the end, as a second policy I get some no claims discount based on being a named driver on my wife's policy and multicar discount, so about £440 thought wasn't too bad....

Phone them and tell them you are thinking of selling, and if you do, what refund will they offer you? Or should you hang on until there's a new car to change the policy to... That will give you the answer without committing to the change.
