Has anyone tried fit the 4 bolts catless manifold from early coupe to the latest 2 bolts GS? Is it going to be direct bolt on without engine light?

Hi,
Could u post the picture of the new manifold and also of the secondary pipe. Is it a Larini with cat the secondary pipe? What about the sound? Has it improved at low / mid rpm the torque? Or mainly above 4000rpm? Thanks for sharing since I am thinking of doing the same job for the same reasons as u cheers roberto

I think Mark has installed 4200 (catless) manifolds, Larini sports cats, H-pipe and Larini valved rears.

I don't think Larini do manifolds, but if they do I don't think they will flow any better than a standard 4200 manifold. Mark (MAF) used standard 4200s.

Correct. I didn't know they made them so I stand corrected. You would most probably be better off getting standard for about a quarter of the price.

would there be any noticeable power or noise increase with the Larini manifolds over the standard euro ones? Hard to say really.

Hi, I ve asked mark and he has the standard euro manifold. Since I will have the manifolds made custom I have to decide if it is better to have the original or Larini looklike

Correct. Plus a BMC air filter (soon to be replaced by a SM induction kit) and a Torenno Performance engine ECU remap.

U told u the Larini manifold doesn't flow as well as the standard? I would be interested in understanding better since I ve to decide if to have the original UK manifold made custom or the Larini one. U also mentioned about a small induction kit!! Where can I find out more? Do anyone has it on? Cheers

The induction kit is in development at the moment. Just stick your name on the thread after reading up on it if you are interested.

If you are having them custom made I'd go with the expertise of the person making them. Probably not worth worrying about the difference between stock Euro spec and Larini versions as I doubt many people would notice a difference in power between them. They are all compromises in one way or another. Mark seems very happy with his stock manifolds, I've heard his car very close up (15 minutes stuck in a rev-off in a tunnel at Le Mans where we had about 200 people cheering us on!) and it is a glorious noise!

MAF 260, according to the bottom paragraph of this terrific write up on 4200/GS exhausts (one of several pages), the Euro manifold is superior to the Larini manifolds in a few ways. Not sure in terms of lightness though. Sorry about the poor qaulity of the photo.

Kind regards,
Felix

Thanks, Felix. I studied that article thoroughly before doing my own research - it's an excellent source of information. Must also be where I got the point about the OEM non-car manifolds flowing better than the Larini manifolds.
