Take it you are still getting water in the footwells?

Definitely antifreeze / coolant not pollen filter still blocked up?

Do you have to top the coolant up all the time?

Would think a days work so shouldn't be too bad.

Very small leak. I noticed when I changed my sterio and it's greecy water. I changed the pollen filter myself and cleared out the tube that runs inside the car. and the chamber the filter sits in. And no not getting water in the footwell its such a small leak so no I don't have to keep toping up. I wouldn't of noticed it if it wasn't for changing the sterio.

Oh right.

I noticed some pipes for the Ac evaporator not lagged on mine, so the pipes would sweat a bit and it did look like a leak.

Really hope it isn't the matrix.

There is a how to from Paul 3200 if you are brave...if not its a Alfa part but expect a couple of days labour. .if I recall there is also a post on here where a member had it done for him at a specialist.

If a had a large enough garage I'd be brave enough to I think ha ha. But so easy to pay for it I think again.

I had mine done by my chap in Chadwell heath. £100 for the matrix > £500 for the replacement.

Are you sure it's the matrix? I thought mine had gone but on closer inspection it was the hose connections. Both jubilee clips were lose and I could tighten them up several turns. Problem fixed.

Hi all had a pressure test done on the cooling system and there is a leak in it although small not taken anything apart yet.
My mechanic got a price for a new part for the matrix from maserati at over a thousand pounds. Just asked him to text over exactly what part that was. Need more advice from you guys please. I've put on hold any further work done yet. Might have to wait till the new year.

I'd follow Catman's route if you are needing the matrix changed; whole dash out I would say, not for the feint hearted...

The Alfa 166 matrix is the same. I paid <£100 inc next day delivery.
To be *totally* fair, the Maserati part includes loads of plastic as well, but swapping the matrix into the old casing is apparently simple enough.

Chris I know this has been stated on ML and the only reason I am mentioning it here is because I actually plan on taking the entire dash apart today/tomorrow.....like the clutch wasn't enough! I need to do the heater core and instrument cluster lights. Seems I've replaced 4 different heater cores in a couple of vehicles for people in the last month. If you guys will search for 1992-1998 Saab 9000 heater core you will find that it's basically the same one. Ironically they have a MM part number as well as a Valeo one. I bought mine for $29.95 with free shipping. Additionally, you will see that some have that yellowish plastic tube inlet outlet ends on them, then there's another version with a different quality black plastic, that I think is better. That's the one I bought for $29.95. If you want to go a step further since you guys are already over there you can possibly get the all aluminum cores that came in the 95-96 Saab 9000's. Just my two pence............See if this looks familiar to you guys acrossed the pond...........

Here's the yellowish plastic inlet outlet tube one with the MM part number:

If you get a chance you can Google or put "Heater Core Saab 9000 1992-1998" in ebay. I just called the company I bought the core from it cost me a total of $44.98 to overnight it to me. So that's the core and shipping complete cost. I just wanted to get it done without messing about, the car has been down long enough and it's too cold at times to drive it with-out heat.
