Oooops
Thought the MOT wasn't due until November. Actually due 5th September.

Fingers crossed the budget can handle it...

I suspect yours has been rather more loved than mine :) OTOH she's been utterly reliable so far, so I'm only really worried about suspension / tyres / brakes. I know I can get that done reasonably.
Leaky steering rack would be bad, but I hear refurbs are OK so here's hoping :)

Well what do you know? It passed.

No idea if there were any advisories yet, but will find out later.
Happy bunny.

LOL. It'll be going to Bill McGrath soon to get given a thorough once over. He'll then give me the list of what needs doing, and I'll go and have a little lie down.

Well worth doing that, at least you can plan what you think needs doing and when. Rather than have all the bills come in at once.

Well done on it passing, mines up in a few weeks.

Having banged on about how good my handbrake is I decided to investigate a kind of 'shuff, shuff shuff' noise coming from the car when braking to slow speeds. The front discs and pads were new last year and the rears were refaced inside and out with new shoes and GG pads. The fronts are fine and the rears look good too. However, when I took the rears off the inside faces of the 'drums' were in a state. Rust had crept across from the 'open' side of the drum and across about half of the friction surface. I've cleaned them up for the time being and I hope to replace them within the next fortnight. From now on I think I will 'clean the handbrake by pulling it on for 5-10 seconds or so every time I take her out. Hopefully, that will keep the handbrake in fine fettle with just the occasional dust clean out and adjustment.

So handbrake turns added to the repertoire Benny?

(sniggers to himself knowing the futility of trying it with these handbrakes)

Good and local C, I've not used them previously but they were recommended to me for the 4200 steering rack I have to get sorted at some point...

I've used him for years, now, Newton. Would heartily recommend.
Omarlittle of this parish had his heater matrix replace by Felice as well, and was well pleased (he said)
Forum discount should apply as well.

Felice was trained by Maserati, but also is fully qualified Alfa guy. Pragmatic and passionate. Has some super cars there :)
