I did exactly the same thing, some months back. Same time as it was in the body shop getting the front end repainted.
Its definitely louder all the way through the power band. It sounds like sport mode in normal mode and a very angry banshee after hitting the sport button.
Think I was charged £200.

Presumably they welded it though, right?
