It sounds like cars are in such short supply, Maserati will only lend them to a dealer for a few days, so where is the stock for sale..??

Different days Frank, Maserati are on about each UK dealer selling, what was it 500 cars each in a year and they don't even have sufficient stock to put this mass produced car in a showroom, well that's a good plan then..??

I think we will still have some exclusivity, but if they want to mass produce, they will have to do much better than they have started..!!

Even on Uk sales of 2000 pa you will rarely see one.

To my mind if I was after a diesel mid size saloon, a 535d is an easier choice.

the people who buy diesel family cars or business cars wont buy a maserati.....

the depreciation is unknown, the reliability is unknown and running costs will be higher for companies.....

just my opinion, the diesel will sell well but to enthusiasts who want a family car.....

I have to say you are all being very harsh........
You all fail to mention that the car is not yet launched in this country!

whilst it is frustrating that we are waiting for this car to arrive, i think you will all agree that if taking a little linger is because we need to get it right then this is the way to go.

I have 6 confirmed orders on this car already and over 50 waiting to see and drive the car, all customers are aware that we are awaiting on launch dates. And, so far all are happy that getting it right is worth the wait.

As for having stock i will personally have stock available, and this will continue to be the case as we believe in keeping the car available for customers.

We have 3 demos coming in so as soon as we get the nod we will be ready.

The customer that wants a 520, 320, e220, c220 will never venture towards the Ghibli, i agree.
but the customer that ventures towards a cls 350, a7, 6 series, will be the Ghibli customer.

it is marketed towards the person that wants something different, whilst the german cars are exceptional at what they do look in any car park and every other car is german.

depreciation will be set by Maserati finance (hopefully) to improve used values, running costs higher I agree, its not a 2.0lt plodder, reliablilty is the one we all hope will be proven.

agree, the ghibli will be sold to grancoupe diesel buyers....not smaller engine buyers, but they are fewer, bmw has not sold many big diesel lumps the last year....it tends to be the smaller engines....
the grancoupe was on sale in Jan i think and already there are big offers on it....same as the e class.....

I cant see many high end company car type buyers going for a Ghibli. The maintenance costs are totally on another level to BMW, Audi etc. If Maserati really have ambitions to produce 50k or 100k cars a year then things will have to change in that regard and also the number of dealerships will have to increase.

I just find it hilarious, given the ambition of the company, when I hear cost prices for Maserati parts and service. I can live with it because I love the car and its my weekend ride only but they simply will not be tolerated by your average £50 to £60k new car buyer who puts good miles day in day out on his/her car.

Today I got quoted £140 for an Ipod cable as an example.....

Hi Rags, to be fair Maserati are looking to offer servicing deals in conjunction with the finance deals. They've done their homework and have looked very carefully over the fence at their German competitors and the deals they offer.

Time will tell. I actually don't like either the QP or the Ghibli, but I do think Maserati are about as close as they've ever been to actually formulating a growth plan that is achievable and on a par with what the Deutsche Wagons offer.

I wish them good look and will watch with some interest.
