I won't complain if Maseratis increase in value, have you seen Ferrari prices ?

Strange vents on the bottom/lower part of the front wings are they not? Not seen those anywhere before. Anyone seen those before?

Just done some digging and seems like an optional bling exterior trim chrome trim pack thing. A 'vintage' pack it seems if my research is correct. Not sure I see the point and/or whether it improves or detracts. Would have to see it in the flesh I guess.

Yes it is the vintage pack which added the vents in the wings, ball polished alloys although you could op for a different finish and some chrome finishing in side. I wouldn't pay over 20k for a face as lift but there are dealers pushing the price of the best examples with low miles. There is a black GS up for just over 23k but most are over 25k these days. PLus there are some that prefer the interio of a 4200 to a GS so that will probably sell for over 20k......I am with you would prefer to spend a bit more on a GS.

Vintage pack apart, it does look a very nice example, particularly like the colour combination

It does look nice with the GS wheels, and facelift 'GS' bumpers.
Vintage pack...No, not for me.

I think its bang on the money, and I paid more than this for my second 4200 but that was two years ago.

The wheels are an expensive option as is the GS steering wheel and remember a GS of the same miles would be six k more.

There are so few decent facelifts about its about time people recognised that they command a premium.

Not a fan of the Vintage pack but otherwise a nice car.

The price is more like where a 4200 should be given what you get but I think it is probably a tad high for the current marketplace

I think the money is spot on if it's a good car. Gransport wheels are £1500 or so and the steering wheel is a lovely extra, never known one before on a 4200. A sub 40000 mile cambiocorsa facelift car has been at least £20k for the last five years if it's been a good example.

20k agree...........but do the wheels really add 1500 to the price....You find that certain options will make the car more saleable but not 1000's surely.....but then you are the man in the know Dicky so I will bow down to your experience......With the 4200 not really that much different from a GS they are a great buy and one that should hold it's value if you keep the miles down...;

The wheels are worth £1500 but don't add that to the price, maybe £1k.

Thought about that Dicky........Some of the very last ones made came out of the factory with them as standard from what I remember but they are few and far between.

My 2007 4200 did not have GS wheels on..?? This looks a nice car and lowish miles for the year..!! It looks like a 2005 4200 with some add ons at a later stage maybe, I have not heard of factory fitting of steering wheels and road wheels from another model, not 2005 anyway..??

The last 4200 brochure had the face lift pictured with GS wheels on but not seen one with a GS steering wheel.

Thanks for all the info and discussion. I like the car in general. Not sure about the Vintage bits as never been a fan of all this Chrome trim stuff. Not a deal breaker though. I thought the brake calipers were supposed to be silver on the Vintage pack from what I can tell but again really a tiny insignificant thing. It is not far aware from me so might try to make a visit in the next few days to view it and have a quick test drive. Never driven a Maser yet in any model so a little apprehensive. I really want to love the brand/car and will be sad if I don't gel with it.

Loved my SL60 AMG I had and regretably sold a few years back. Got into an SL55 AMG last year and hated it. Flipped it for a £1k profit after a few weeks so not a disaster but was nothing like the better SL60 IMHO. Far too much power/torque for the chassis set up it had.

I remember many years ago doing a supercar track day and driving my first Ferrari with it not being anywhere near as good as I had envisaged or built it up to be. It was a Modena 360 and seemed to be a well worn track vehicle so likely a bad example but nevertheless wasn't what I wanted it to be.

The Boxster S is a great car but not really very special or an occasion. I have had a better feeling with a new shape Jaguar XJ than the Boxster. It has been the first car I have driven straight on past home a few times for an extended drive and I haven't done that for a few years. Th XJ is only the twin turbo diesel but is an awesome car.

I am hoping the Maser is what I want it to be ;)
