Price is right for a good car with history and clear inspection.

Been for sale for over six months...almost identical to mine.

Thanks for the info. Over six months....wow. Sure the seller must think it is either too dear or the wrong car. Or holding out to get the money he wants for it.

Out of interest do you prefer the GS to the facelift 4200 CC?

Need to go and have a look at both as not sure which way I should head. I am a Maser virgin after SL's (SL500, SL60 AMG & SL55AMG) and M5. Just preparing the 987 Boxster 3.2 S for sale to make way for the Maser.

VVS sell Ferraris mainly, and apparently have a good rep. A business associate knows the owner very well and says he knows his stuff.

When I rang about having a look, I got a massive hard sell on it, which instantly put me off.
Apparently it's the best Gransport out there........ But has been up for sale for 6 months.

Thanks  Still seems strange to me for a car like that to be up for sale for 6 months.

If I was in the market for a GS I'd certainly go and see it. They have a very impressive stocklist so they must be doing something right.

VVS seem to have a good reputation..As Pete has said this has been for sale for some time so worth going in with a cheeky offer...... THey have sold a few Maserati over the last couple of years and also have a lovely silver QP Sport GTS there as well..

Over optimistic DMS figures yet again! Car isn't an LE either - no Auditorium 200 is the giveaway.

Just my own opinion, but if I was buying again I would have stuck with a 4200 face lift as I feel it gives you almost as much for far less and the ride is just that little bit softer on our dreadful roads.

I was just about to ask whether you guys thought it was an LE. I don't think it is from what I have learnt so far. Seems to be missing the Auditorium 200 as you say. Also most LE's seem to have the darker grey wheels and not silver. No red stripes on the badges either. Not that it makes a difference from what I can gather but for that money or a little less it wants to be an 'official' LE in my book. The blue anniversary one seems better value albeit with questionable interior colour trim in my book below:

Is the Anniversary a known and sought after model? Better than the LE?

Thanks for your opinion...always welcomed. I am thinking the same thing at the back of my mind. Seems like better value to be had there with a facelift late 4200. IMHO they seems to look a little more plain and possibly starting to date a smidge due to this. The GS looks a little fresher. However I am not made of money and am adding £10k to my £10k from my Boxster 3.2 S so £20k was my ideal budget. I can make some more available but prefer not to if I can help it ;)

It won't be a garage queen and I want to drive it although I always look after my cars and treat them well. Seems silly to pay silly money for a top top top car when I am not going to keep it to that level 100%. I have been offered a pretty cheap 2008 GranTurismo for £28k but think this will be a little bigger and heavier more than I need. The 4200 seems to fit the bill nicely for my requirements.

Have thought of things like the M6/M3 4.0 V8 and an XKR but think the Maser is just a little more special and more of an experience at any speed. The Boxster 3.2 S is a great car but just quite harsh and not really an 'experience' on every drive and pretty dull at lower speeds. I miss the V8 from my old SL60 AMG and want the V8 back!

Thanks for all your help on here.

Pretty sure this car is not an LE and has misleading BHP statements between 450 & 470, my GS has DMS and get's a liitle over 440 BHP and I have a full Larini system apart from main front cats. The exhaust tips look as though they are stock OE. I would question some of the statements made, the car is priced maybe slightly high for a non-LE with 48K miles. Worth a look as it looks tidy, but has to be negotiation on price..!!
Regarding the choice GS, or 4200. The Facelift 4200 is an excellent car and very good value for what you get..!! I have owned both and I now prefer the GS, before I bought the GS I never thought I would say that, I could not see the difference between the 2 costing that much more, I was wrong..!! The GS is more planted and overall performance just has the edge on the 4200, GS is very stable at high speed and I have had the GS up to 170 (not in the UK), the 4200 did start to dance a tiny bit over 130, but you got used to it.
First venture in to Maserati ownership with a budget, I would go for the best and newest 4200 facelift I could find at the right money, it will be a lot less than a GS, but for first ownership you can't go wrong and will be hugely impressed, you can always upgrade later..??
Cheers

GS Blu Anniversary: I don't know where they get the statement "Only 90 produced", or maybe I am missing something that I don't know about..?? Lovely car for reasonable money, but as you say the interior is what you make of it, if you like it go for it..!!

That's what I thought, but maybe it includes the Coupe too, I know the colour is named on the plate as "Blu 90 Anniversary" on my GS..!!
