Ouch. Think my clutch has just gone.

I think we may have some light at the end of the tunnel.

Matthew switched my gearbox ECU over with another, and saw straight away error codes which say I need an actuator potentiometer.
Put the old ECU in. Nothing.

Matthew has surmised that my ECU doesn't store the fault codes for some reason.
He is now sourcing an actuator potentiometer and that should fix things.

Basically all this grief is down to my ECU not storing these codes. The odd thing is, it stored others. Go figure!

But at least it should be fixed shortly.

This is the thing. Matthew says my car will work perfectly with my existing ECU.
It stores error codes for everything else. But not the actuator potentiometer. Although that may change once the new one is put in.

I may keep the existing one for a couple of months whilst I re-stock the Maser fund and change it when the bank account is more healthy (April-May time).
I could get him to change it when he does a service and power steering oil cooler change.
If he did them all now I've a feeling it would bankrupt me!

Sounds fair enough, best to only change it when it absolutely needs to be changed - the first priority needs to be to get it back on the road!

Tell me about it Stuart! 3 months without hearing the roar of the engine and exhaust.
Not sure how those who are currently Maser-less can cope.

Ok, if you've not owned one, you don't know what you're missing.
When you have. It's awful.

Sods law says it will be fixed on Tuesday. I go to Iceland on Wednesday for the rest of the week!

It would appear, no-where in the Western World has second hand Actuator Potentiometer, so I've had to buy the last new one on planet earth that Maserati in Italy have.
Fortunately I used my Moderna Owners Club discount card and got 10% off with Ross at Meridian, however, it's still the fat end of £680! Gulp!

So my car will be with Matthew for another week or so yet, waiting this gold dust part!

That doesn't work either!
It's like age - you go to bed at night - everything is fine - wake up and something doesn't work
