Thank you, hopefully when I take it to the garage they might have a spare one I'll ask tomorrow.

You have all been great and really helpful.

Tbh it didn't seem like a big job to do but im just unsure about the assembly of the different components and then having to reset the epb.

So the company I purchased the car from has passed me through to their warranty that they offered with the car purchase, I know this will not be covered under the warranty as they will just say its a wear and tear part! Do I have any come back to reclaim costs for the repairs though? Only having the car a month do I have any rights? They MOT and serviced the car when I purchased it so surely this could have been found and rectified?

If you can show the pads are not worn out, but the material disintegrated you might be lucky.

I’d forget the warranty bit, the dealer has to prove the issue wasn’t there at the point of sale.

I think there's a pretty good argument that the pads weren't delaminated at the point of sale, but your point is valid

I wouldn’t say it’s a good argument, but I think it’s the best shot here. I’d actually wager they were on their last legs and the MOT broke the linings free.

Although slightly different, I had new discs fitted to my previous Ghibli at MD after warping issues (I bit the bullet and replaced a fairly new set). Anyway within 8 hours the new set went the same way and Maseratis reply was "brakes arent covered"

Oh wow! Surely there's a guarantee of some sort for that! Or even a goodwill gesture?

I've had a look on Eurospares and will prob get the shoe's, and fixing kits for both sides and do them together new.

Anyone know how hard it is to assemble the fixing kit and shoe's? The actual set up looks pretty straight forward but the fixing kit looks a bit complicated then will the actual EPB reset itself when fitted??

They said "no goodwill" as they were brakes. I threatened the dealer with allsorts and eventually they replaced them, said they would deal with Maserati. On talking to the dealer next time it was in they said they never got anything back from Maserati, which is shocking really

My guess is that a legal wonk advised them that if they ever apply goodwill gestures on brakes it would be a tacit admission of liability. Still, bloody wankers nevertheless.

I literally drove it home (in the snow), then within 2 days of commuting and about 150 miles they'd gone.
