not a disappointing drive?

(had to edit my original post as I called it a Renault potato by mistake)
It actually drives really well. 1.2 carb but being French and from the 80’s is squidgy and comfortable. I did think 60hp and 1.2 would be pants but no, due to the weight (or lack of) it’s peppy!

I nearly bought a 1989 Renault 21 turbo back 90’s sometime, that thing was seriously rapid.

So classics don’t have to be disappointing then

I have two and it would depend on whether I can also keep my FF in this fantasy or not. If I can then I’d go old skool.

Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta

If I can only have one car then I’d go a bit more modern.

Dare I say it, the Strad

As we are not basing on value it’s the most connected and visceral car I have driven.

I drove my hero last week (they say never too) Krishna’s 720S

The body, interior and engine is immense. The let down for me was the gearbox. It’s almost too good. Change gear at any revs is seamless.

A wallop up the @rse from a Strad in the redline is no better feeling when coupled with ear splitting Larinis.

There, I said it...living the dream!

If this is not acceptable then I default back to my first love:

Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale but I know the drive will be a disappointment. Put the Strad guts in it....ok that’s my discussion.

The perfect look and the perfect drive.

Krishna’s got a 720s? I hope he has a warranty. Did he keep the GTS as well? Not bad for a guy that doesn’t really need a car in London!

Yep, still got the GTS. TBF the amount he’s spent on it, it has to be a keeper.

My thing has always been big V8 saloons , if I could have one new with a lifetime warranty it'd be a Quattroporte GTS

CGT-i have so much love for these. Race car V10, manual box. Didnt one of the contributors to Evo have one of these years ago, and got it stripped down and repainted yellow?

See, this is a difficult one. I'd love a 288GTO but I'm just too tall and big for one. You need to be 5ft 8" and have 4 knees to be able to drive the thing. Even if it does look gorgeous.
An F40 I fit in, and could drive, but could I drive it across the continent for 2 hours without needing surgery afterwards?
An MC12 would be great, but I've not sat in one so can't confirm if it would be the same as a 288 or F40.

A Ferrari Daytona would tick all the boxes but headroom is comprised slightly for me. Maybe a convertible?

Basically I'd need something big enough for me, and would be comfortable, quick and easy to drive for those trips to the shops etc.

I guess the only thing that is ticking all those boxes is my avatar pic. A Ferrari 458 Spider.

Normally aspirated so it sounds awesome. Quicker than 99% of cars on the road. Comfy. Big enough for me inside.
That would be my choice. I think...
