Hello everyone 2 weeks in still not seen another Maser on the road am I the only one ?

Few more questions :

Is the slot on the dash console for an SD card ? if so what type as my card does not fit

Are the doors soft close ? they seem to resist a slam but then don't close properly either

The key fob is horrible - no eye hook to put on a key ring and so cheap looking - how do you cope ?

Anyone else got a parrot (never even noticed it before) how does it work ?

Despite all the above still loving it :happy2:

The slot is for a phone SIM card and will only work if you have a Maserati phone installed (if you have one, there will be a large flap in the centre arm-rest; if your centre arm rest is plain smooth then you do not have a phone).

The doors are not soft close. Sometimes these doors need alignment (they can be adjusted at the hinges and also the position of the main hook the doors close onto) and a good dealer or indie can do this. The doors should close with a satisfying clunk with medium-light push.

The key fob does have an eye hook. Open the key so it is in the out position. Look into the cavity where the key would sit (when closed) and you will see a metal piece on the opposite to the key. Use a pen or a very small screwdriver to push this out and you will have an eye hook!

I do not have a parrot but you should be able to simply pair your bluetooth smartphone to it and you will be able to use the phone in the car, through your speakers. I am assuming that the parrot is wired/rigged up correctly. I am sure you can download the instruction manual dependent on the specific model. I believe you can also stream music if your phone can do that (however do not know what the sound quality is like).

There are other cool features on the car that not many folks realise are there:

  1. When unlocking the car in a dark place, press the unlock button twice instead of once. The headlights and tail lights will come on!
  2. You can set 'follow me home' lights so the main beams stay on for a fixed time after you leave the car. After switching the ignition off, pull the indicator stalk towards you. Each time you pull the stalk, the lights duration increases by 30 seconds.
  3. If you leave doors/sunroof open, you can can shut all by pointing the key fob at the car and holding down the lock button for the time it takes for windows/sunroof to close. Conversely, if you hold the unlock key continuously, all the windows/sunroof will open!

Fantastic thanks very much for the valuable info, as they say you learn something new .......

Who is my nearest reputable indie - any recommendations around the Uxbridge, Windsor and Surrey areas

Somebody mentioned Maserati shed (Mike) but it was too cryptic for me to understand

I just always presume that I put the heated rear window on to get the mirrors demisted given the screen tends to need doing at the same time.

In the 4200 they come on with the heated rear screen. Never really had a problem with misting external mirrors so....
