It's supposedly worth about $3 trillion, or something ridiculous...

I'll go with 900 million tonnes.

And you changed your avatar because you sold your car and now Maser/Alfa-less?

Correct on the Avatar Mrcoops. I sold the Alfa I was using as my avatar. I've still got the 4200 so I will change it again soon.

The estimate is in billions of tons. Best guess in the next 30 mins gets it. Its more than 10 Billions and less than 30 Billion tons as a guide.

If you managed to mine 900 million tonnes the market would be swamped and the price would go through the floor.

I wasn't planning on selling it all in one go. Just enough to but a fleet of tridents for me and mine. It's only fair to share so I should also buy one for every SM member and insist Maserati fix all the wishbones FOC :)

It sounds like a flying ingot. If you ever managed to get there you would probably find some rapper sat on top using it as a necklace.

About 20billion tons.

Spot on benny. 20 billion tons it is. Could get some custom tridents made and still have enough left to buy several Countries.

Was it not the symbol of some flying ace that Enzo used to spanner for. Did the guy not die in action and his family presented the prancing horse to Enzo for his effort in maintaining the plane.

Enzo also used it on the Alfa race cars he ran between the wars.

It was the Emblem of an aristocratic Italian pilot from Ww1 whose widow bequeathed the emblem to Enzo for scuderia Ferrari to put on his team's Alfas. But I can I remember the pilots name?no

That's close enough. The 'Ace' in question was Francesco Baracca who was indeed killed in combat in WW1. The insignia, which was presented to Enzo in about 1923, was red on the aeroplane but became black on the cars as a mark of mourning. It is also rumoured that Baracca took the insignia off a vanquished German pilot who had it on his aircraft as a symbol of his home town, Stuttgart! Who knows, but for the chance outcome of a dogfight Porsche or Mercedes might have ended up with the 'dancing donkey' instead of Ferrari. Btw, the yellow background on the Scuderia shields is the traditional colour of Modena.

Your go Zag.

Love this thread - we need to find a virtual pub quiz. I think we would do rather well.

Or just come to my pub and do the quiz here :)

what i could do just for a bit of fun is upload an image of the 20 questions round from the quiz I do here. I could upload the answers the following day.

Your question Zag

But in the meantime 20 questions for you all as per Damon's request. Answers will be revealed tomorrow. I will try and upload one a week for you. If you want to do it as a combined effort that's no problem but I suggest we have a 1 to 20 list so we can see the agreed answers.
