Apparently it does 60 in 6 secs which is over 3 secs faster than the old diesel version we currently have, I reckon it will match the old versions time with a 24ft caravan on the back. Who says caravans block the roads :)

Me. The fscking caravan overtaking a horsebox that I was stuck behind this afternoon. But it wasn't you, so that's fine :D

Certainly not me, I am pretty comfortable in the fact that more often than not cars get in my way. Even the old diesel RR was capable of towing at all UK speed limits and often did.

No, I know it was't you. It was A414 between somewhere and home. It was a tiny black mark on a fscking awesome drive. In some ways it made it better cos when he pulled in could open the valves, bang it down three ratios and have a ******* blast :D

My old XFR shares the same engine and it's an absolute peach, also bulletproof.

Thanks all, I hope we have made the right decision :)

The guy that looks after my Alfas has a celtic tune franchise and believes he can squeeze almost another 10% on power and 15% of torque - interesting thought

I have yet to find the switch for warming your balls but I am sure there must be one somewhere

It's under your right foot!

I'm another who really doesn't get anything that tall, or caravans for that matter, but that's a lovely thing, and the colour makes it all the more special. As a tow wagon, it does seem a nice choice.

Well it's back home and initial impressions are good. It is super smooth, super comfy and surprisingly quick. No sports car but enough grunt to overtake when necessary. Drive back from Uxbridge area came out at just over 25mpg which is better than expected at a normal 70-80 mph cruising speed.

It is going in to my man this week for a good check over small service and replacement battery as the current one looks old, it was on charge when we went to collect and it has a battery low warning please start engine when you turn on the ignition. Seller knocked off another £150 to cover it as he thought it was past its best. So hopefully by weekend it will be back for me to get time to play with it properly.

Modern electrics like a good battery so changing it is probably wise , 25mpg sounds very good for a big lump of metal with a supercharged v8 in it

I would be more than happy with 25 mpg as my Diesel Ranger 3.2 does 30 and you have the money for a new Battery :)

Sounds good Andy, no doubt by the weekend when it's all sorted out, you will see what a bargain you have got yourself

No problem Dave, needs must we need tow barge and I have yet to find anything better than a RR - for a two and a half ton brick the pickup from tick over is awesome

You can get 25mpg out of a supercharged 2 and half tonne brick, yet we struggle to get 20mpg in a considerably lighter, streamlined coupe!
Why?

RR in my independent today for a quick once over, all is good news. As expected battery is not holding charge so will be replaced and front pads are worn so they will be replaced.

All other checks positive, no corrosion underneath, all suspension arms, bushes, air bags all looking good with no signs of play. Engine, gearbox and diff oils all look clean with n sign of leaks. Cooling system & aircon system the same clean with no leaks.

So overall looks like it has been well maintained so a good buy, happy camper :)

Good news, you can enjoy it not without any worry - always a relief when buying any s/h car
