Excellent, Chris - I look forward to seeing them. With a couple of kerb scuffs and some peeling lacquer I need to get mine done at some point soon. I want black, I'm just not sure how it will look. I think yours will be great with the lighter silver (Grigio Touring?).

Ok, first pic taken with my phone at the refurb place.
The wheels themselves look great, but I haven't had a chance to really look at the car yet. First impressions are that I like it! The light was almost gone, so I'll do some more in the morning.
Edit : hopefully some that are the right way up!

ATTACH=CONFIG]13938[/ATTACH]Hi all,

Really tempted to go black with my Grigio Touring QP, anyone see this done?

Also, what type of finish is best, matt or gloss, applied by spray paint, powder coat or some other method?

Thanks,

Pat.

Yes, I do prostitute myself, I feel its my duty to bring Maserati to the masses.

Pat, I had mine done at a refurbishers, they removed the previous silver colour, powder coated black, baked in an oven then applied a gloss coat & re-baked. About £60 per wheel. Extra £5 as they needed to do the removal & replacement of tyres etc. took two days. Very glossy, I'll have some good pictures up tomorrow if I get the chance.

Thanks, Andy...Looks like my mistress has put on the stilleto'd patent leather boots and become a bit more of a Madam!

Feeling suitably subservient...

Never really got to grips with black wheels, but well done Chris; as Brendan says, the roof ties it all together nicely. Looks really smart without being too gangsta.

Likewise, I don't understand the black wheel thing either. IMO, I think a mid grey looks better with a silver body, but that's just me. At least they are nicely refurbed and that tidys everything up. FWIW, personally, I don't think black wheels would suit a QP either.

This whole refurb thing, I find a bit of a pain. Had mine done a year or two ago and, while they were OK, they just werent all that. Inclusions in the paint etc.

Need to get another set done shortly (not Mas) and am thinking Lepsons will be the way to go. Where do you guys go to get it done fr £60 or so and is the job durable/good quality?

I had them done at First Aid Wheels in west hampstead. They seem professional and have people dedicated just to doing wheels so hopefully all will be well. The other option was recommended by ADG, where they had mine done when I bought it. Alistair can probably give you the contact details if you pm ADGSevenoaks. They are Kent way though.

Fully understand - I'm still getting used to them myself. After watching the rich boy racer thing on TV the other week, it is a bit of a "Just off the plane from The Emirates and wanting to make an impression" look, especially on a marque as steeped in tradition as this. But sometimes it's good to stir things up and I can go back if it doesn't grow on me. The wheels needed doing - just look at the horror shot in the album in my profile...gruesome!!

Hats off to you for doing something different! Some will like them and some won't, but it's irrelevant who thinks what as it is what you think that matters. Rest assured if you change them AndyK will take the p!ss and if you keep them I will. Your choice!

BTW, your avatar is now out of date!

They have a great reputation for sure. I guess you'd use the Kent office?

Just for general info', the Swindon branch is not Lepsons anymore. It was bought out of the franchise and it's now an independent called Platinum Alloy Wheel Solutions. They did my ball polished wheel. Did a great job, albeit a bit slow.

Mine were done by previous owner and , must say, have grown on me.
