It used to turn up at car shows about 20 years ago. The one used in the prefessionals did the rounds as well. I think it was at Evesham the last time i saw it.

I would have had that Mark but for two things. Just bought a nice 1999 R129 SL500 and......I couldn't live with that green. Not been a fan of green cars or standing out too much. Judging by this one and the subtle GS you have we seem to differ there

There's a cruel twist to end this story...
The two brothers who came down from Scotland yesterday to buy the car were driving it home. They were delighted with the car and were enjoying the journey, pulling into Keele services on the M6 for some fuel. Shortly after rejoining the motorway they came to a standstill in heavy traffic. Unfortunately the 7.5 tonne truck following them didn't and rear-ended the car, pushing it into the pick up in front. The car is a write-off; both rear quarters are heavily buckled and the front of the car is also damaged. To say I'm absolutely gutted for these 2 guys is an understatement - they were exactly the sort of buyers you would want for your cars, lovely genuine blokes who were really excited about taking ownership and enjoying the car. The loss of such a tidy example in an extremely rare colour adds to the sadness. Gladly both occupants are OK, some whiplash injuries and thankfully nothing more serious. They've only just got home after leaving my house around 10:30 yesterday morning. I'm shocked, saddened and speechless....
