Welcome to SM, hope you enjoy your time here it's a great community.

Another Surrey former here I live in Godalming at the moment... as for parking in Guildford I try to avoid the peak shopping hours if I'm going to take the 4200 in town and park it so I just take the 318d company wagon instead. Of course I always park it and worry about it sometimes I just need to learn to relax a bit lol.

If you ever want to cause a rumble through Guildford and surrounding areas on a saturday/Sunday morning/evening drop me a PM... with your valves open and my modified exhaust im sure we will turn some heads lol. In terms of meets Horsham is first then auto Italian at brooklands which attracts about 6-7k people certainly not one to miss... the following even there Supercar saturday is a bit more relaxed and you can get on the parade lap easier. Of course there are the regular Thursday afternoon and evening meets at the orchard and Ace which is more of a forum afare

Congratulations....that is a lovely looking GT. I think I'd wait until 2017 to register it as well. Will be one of a few 2017 cars at this rate.

Wonder what the GT sales figures are per month these days?

Thanks!

I actually got a decent deal on the car from H.R. Owen but had to get it registered this year. I'm fine with it, don't think I could wait that long anyway XD

That's awesome hope to see you.

Yes Parade lap, I chickened out of the first few as I had bad brakes but I did the lap at brands hatch festival italia as i know the track and I was buzzing for a week afterwards. Here is the video I uploaded which covers the entire day, can't link the YouTube video as I'm behind an evil proxy server http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/sho...ade-Lap-Thread?p=508190&viewfull=1#post508190

I can't argue with that I'd be chomping at that bit too!

So nervous about parking it in Guildford town centre, took out the dings and chips insurance for 3 years from H.R. Owen, do you guys look for special places to park your beloved cars when out and about away from home?!

What kinds of attitudes can you expect from people while driving one? I'd hope it may be a bit nicer than some other sports cars.

Congratulations on a beautiful looking car - I collected my Blu Sofisticato GT Sport in July and have enjoyed every minute of driving it.

In terms of attitudes from other drivers , I can only echo the earlier comments - I've never been let out of so many junctions so easily, drivers in adjacent traffic queues wind down their windows for a chat and, when it's parked up, passers by often stop to say what a wonderful looking car it is.

I too was a little wary of parking on the street, but I have had no problems at all, apart from one incidence of clumsiness on my part in a supermarket car-park...the doors are very long and, trying to get out of a narrow gap without touching the next car, I managed to kick off one of the seat adjustment controls...so be careful when getting out in narrow spaces if you have big feet/are clumsy or both.

Other than that....great car, great colour choice ...what an early Christmas present to your self - well done!

Nice. I am in Surrey as well. For insurance try direct line and privilege.

I got a decent price from both.

Everyone loves a Maserati especially a Granturismo. I always get comments saying it is a beautiful car and motorcyclists often knock on my window to tell me how glorious it sounds.

You won't be disappointed.

Been a while since I posted on here, but welcome from me. Living in Essex (near Witham), the proud owner of an Eldorado Bianco 4.7GTS MC Auto bought new in June 16.
Used as my daily.
Love every second of driving her.
Met a few of the bunch from here at Festival Italia Southend last year.
Everybody loves the GTS!
I'm insured with bog standard Aviva with no specific restrictions placed on me or the car.
I too took out the chips and paint protection cover (and allow wheel cover). I've found with daily use the front end is suffering quite a bit from stone chips. Got the SMART repair company to address a few around September last year. Not the best job I'm afraid. I think it'll need a complete respray in the future. The insurers are **** too - very restrictive on how much they'll cover etc
As for the day job I'm a Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon...

We don't know! However, I think we might see something to keep us going at Geneva.

Boot big enough for your saws and hammers?

PS Front end film is the best option.

There will always be something to replace it with.
One of my Orthopaedic Colleagues was going to get one to replace his R8 Until an annoying Plastic Surgeon bought one. Now he has to think of a different marque!

Welcome.

How does the chips and paint protect and wheel protection work?

Surely it affects your premium when you make a claim?

It's a one off payment with a claim limit over 3 years if I remember correctly. There is also a maximum limit per claim and this was the issue I ran into. Plus the job done wasn't top notch for a car worth circa 90k
Wasn't particularly impressed.
Haven't pranged my alloys yet and hope I don't need that service too!
