So our current plan:

Day 1. Calais - Beaune via Reims on D396 & D996. Recommended road, supposed to be lovely, fast and empty. Should have time for a look at the Reims track hopefully.
Day 2. Beaune - Geneva via Jura Mountains and Route de la Faucille. Morning in Beaune for sightseeing.
Day 3. Geneva - Luzern via some amazing Alpine Scenery. Morning in Geneva, drop Sarah at the airport in the afternoon and fast blat across the Alps.
Day 4. Luzern - Durbach via the Black Forest. Alpine drive followed by Black Forest roads, what a day that'll be :)
Day 5. Durbach - Calais in time for an early evening tunnel journey. Lot of miles, that's what big engined GTs are for!

Paul coming up with some great hotels at good prices, not too late for any last minute joiners!

Matt, can you do a Ferrari factory tour, or have to produce a set of Ferrari keys/car/reg document...in which case in the 430?

A dealer can set up a tour for you as I understand it............They let them know when you are coming...There was a time you could just turn up but not sure it's as easy these days...Having a Ferrari helps.

Intersting thread this. Just convinced the bride that our end of summer holiday in mid Sept needs to be a drive to Italy :)

In fact, at the risk of getting slated, might start a new thread....

Bags are packed, driving gloves (5 pairs) are packed, watches (5) are packed - that means I'm ready to go!!

Meeting Paul and Enzo at 7am for a quick bacon sarnie and coffee, Chunnel then fast blast to Reims for a few photos. Then a back-road drive to Beaune to sample some Montrachet and Chablis in a lovely hotel and relaaaaax.

Day 2 Geneva via the Jura mountains and the Col de La Faucille into Gex, then more relaxing by the lake in 23deg sunshine :)

Then the alps are our playground, though Stelvio and St Gottard are already closed due to snow!! We'll stay at lower levels...

See y'all next week :)

We found out the Stelvio was closed when we tried to get up it! We crashed 4 road closed signs and turned back when we came across an earth mover wit snow chains on. However, we did find the Fluela Pass over to Davos and that was a hoot. Gin clear skies and acres of smooth, dry tarmac. Fabulous.

Bugger! but to be honest Stelvio isn't a patch on Fluella for actual driving, did you manage to do the Andermat loop i suggested?
