Hi Everyone

I thought I would properly introduce myself on here and more importantly introduce the new love in my life that I will be picking up next Saturday! This is my first exotic car and has been a massive personal goal of mine for a few years!

I have just bought a 2011 Maserati Granturismo S MC Shift. Gririo Granito with Nero interior. 14k miles

I am picking it up from Greypaul in Edinburgh on Saturday 18th so a full torturous seven days left to wait! Im really happy with the deal I got as I have a 12 month trident warrant and Greypaul will give the car its 4 year service in October as part of the buying price of the car. Shout out to Patrick at Greypaul who has been a pleasure to deal with and very good at answering any questions I had etc.

Here are a few pics. They are not the best as they are just off their website but I will be sure to post plenty of photos on the collection day!

Lovely spec GT.

Happy motoring. Sure you'll be smitten. Just got my GT in January.

Personally can't think of another car I'd want to own right now.

Thanks a lot guys. I have been thinking 'should I, should I not' for quite a while now. But the irresistible pull of the trident was just to strong to resist!

Honestly I know what you mean. I have been looking at these cars for so long, put so much time into researching them and developed so much passion for the brand, that there is honestly no other car in the world that I would rather have. If I could buy a hypercar for the same money, it would be 'thanks, but no thanks'

I live in the centre of town less than a mile from my work and already have a perfectly decent Merc that is used very sparingly. Nothing about buying this car makes sense, but oh it feels so right!!!

It's not supposed to. Just get in it, put it in sport, wind the windows down and go for a drive. Stop grinning about an hour after you get back (probably the next day). Most of all, enjoy the experience, it's highly intoxicating and never wears off.

Congrats on the car. One of the nicest I've seen. So much so, I could almost be tempted to change the 3200. If only it had turbos and boomerangs. :)

Had the test drive today and got everything finalised! Car is bought and paid for and I am now the proud owner. I will be picking it up on Saturday but wanted to get a test drive and make sure everything was alright before I paid up.

Take away points from today!

The Grigio granito colour looks so much better in the flesh than in photos, such a beautiful dark grey that works so well with the car.

When driven properly the MC shift is absolutely fantastic. Once I had been driving for a half an hour and built up some confidence with the car the gear changes were rapid. Taking it to the red line, keeping the foot planted and hitting the up shift, it absolutely slams it into the next gear with minimal gap.

Driving the mc shift around city was absolutely fine, no jittering or uncomfort.

The mc shift noise is absolutely brutal, even sitting still as soon as you hit the sports button the noise instantly doubles.

Crusing at 80mph on the motorway in non sport mode the car is honestly so quiet and comfortable.

This car really is such a good all rounder. Quiet and comfortable when needed and fast and loud when the mood takes you.

2 sleeps left until I get to take this beauty home!!
