Red Hot Chili Peppers, circa 1989, Mother's Milk tour at the Glasgow Barrowlands.

Although I did also fall asleep aged 7 at a Beach Boys concert in California. I don't count that though.

.

Best venue ever for me the Barrowlands. Most memorably Simple Minds and Hue and Cry on the same bill there in the 80's. Electric.

Wouldn't like to say which is best for me - most memorable on the other hand probably depends on the band. Rock City in Nottingham is a bit shabby but had some fantastic nights there. Cambridge Corn Exchange & T&CC in Kentish Town were always good. The big venues were a spectacle. If I had to choose just one it would be The Marquee Club. Just the name of the place carried an aura.

Best concert was The Undertones & Stiff Little Fingers at De Montford Hall, Leicester - we had to come back to Uni early to see this and it was rammed with students who had done the same.

Freshers concert was also good we had Duran Duran (who had just released Planet Earth) and The Thompson Twins

I remember seeing Pearl Jam at Rock City. Eddie climbed the pa stack and fell off backwards. Then afterwards the band had beers downstairs happily chatted to whoever wanted to go and talk. Unpretentious.

First and best gig was the Stones at Greens Playhouse Glasgow ( before it became the Apollo) in 1971. Top of their game. In the famous balcony for the gig which was bouncing about 20cm-30cm with everyone on their feet . Was sure the whole thing was about to collapse. Would never be allowed today.
Same venue in swift succession was Thin Lizzy, Rod Stewart, Clapton and Status Quo.
