I know im good at my job, just a shame theres not enough wonga in it

After 15 months, in a crowded market of 60 agents all competing and with just 2 staff members for the majority of that time, today, year to date we hit "1st".
A very big deal, shame i cant do this forever as i need more money in life but it goes to show that i can cut it with the best of them in terms of sales and managing an office.

With that on my cv ill begin applying for different jobs soon.

Morning friends, I hope it's as sunny where you are as it is here. A regular day of work today now that the damp proofing has finished - I'll save the clean up until the weekend.

Congrats Dem & have a good day everyone

Morning all, a very rare lay in at the Farmers Union in Exerer this morning as I couldn't get access to do the job in the prison as no escort available; three weeks notice and they screwed it up! Anyway off to Winchester later so Zag I'll wave my fist if I spot you at the front of the tailback!

Have fun all...

Back from the MoT station - seems the testers require some pad material to be remaining on the brake pads on the Soot-Chucker. Useless BMW computer tells me they need changing in 1100 miles, but this afternoon will have to do!

Usually find a visual inspection works well :D

Exactly.

It should tell me they are worn out BEFORE they are all but gone, otherwise it's useless. Oh wait.... :)

1100 miles for most people driving in towns and short commutes is a lot of brake applications. It's miles out. For me with the intergalactic travel on deserted early morning motorways, I'll concede it's probably only about 20 presses of the pedal. :D

On the plus side, there's no fee whatsoever for a test failure at my station. Not sure when they brought that in, but it certainly felt odd leaving without paying.

Goodness me but aren't prisoners looked after well. Do they get an escort each, or must they share? I suppose it helps take the monotony out of prison life.

Strange one that, it's certainly not the norm. A free re-test within 10 working days of the original MOT at the same garage for certain items normally the case but I have seen some friendly garages only charge when it passes.

I think I sense sarcasm in the On Board computer telling you about brake pad life :) If it is anything like the i-drive system I had on the M5 it is utterly useless.

My GS had not one, but two lights in the dash towards the end of Brunty last year. I obviously ignored them and carried on taking passengers on fast laps. When I decided to join the Centenary trip at the last minute I had forgotten about the lack of brake pads as I hadn't driven the car since. The lights continued to flash at me throughout the next 2,500 miles through Europe, but the car still stopped OK (as much as these cars do!). I changed the worn front pads last October - they still had at least 0.3mm of material across most of the pads!!

Old pads vs new...

Fortunately I didn't cause any tailbacks, trusty mud plugger and well balanced twin axle van made sure we could easily maintain the A road speed limits. I still quite the look on some drivers faces when I pull out to pass some HGV or plodder van and then quickly accelerate past and pull back in before the car behind has even caught me up.

When pulled out this afternoon, it turns out the old pads on the Beemer correlated pretty well with the computer prediction - but it seems there must be more than 1.5mm of material on a rear brake pad to pass the MoT [3.5.1g]. It's obviously tricky for the tester to measure while they are on the car, but there's 2mm left on the most worn pads, slightly more on the other half of each pair. New pads on now anyway, and a retest booked for tomorrow morning.

There's plenty on them, I've put replacement pads on with less meat than that!

You pair need to visit specsavers! I'm assuming you realise there are 2 pads in the photo - old on the left and new on the right??!!

Now that makes sense, it's late - about time I took myself off to bed I think & rest my eyes!
