I'm winter tyre shopping today - just had some nice Ghibli S Vulcano alloys arrive from the USA for these. Need tyres and sensors although I am considering running without sensors as they are £50 a wheel. I think for £200 I can clear the computer warning when I start her up each time. We'll see.

Then it's off out on the bike for a few miles. I also have a wee French charity ride coming up. Not quite on the scale of Matt and Pete but still a decent 225 miles in 4 across Normandy. Need to put in the training or it may be messy.

They will be last year's tyres if you aren't careful mate. Winter tyre stock doesn't usually arrive before late September. Check the DOT code on what you are offered.

28 deg outside the car apparently, and perfectly cool inside :) I'm not driving for an hour or so :)

Morning all
Its a good day
lovely weather and
50mins to change over my battery in the QP
All went smoothly, the hardest bit was putting the retaining bar back on when the battery was in situ (more on the flat battery thread)
Just the key (multimedia) code to add now
Then off to Saltburn by the Sea
Have a good w/end

Good morning all. Drove my car to body shop this morning just to be looked at and assessed. Will be pushing for a full resprey. So a little silver lining I get all the niggly bits sorted on the car. Which includes getting the window fixed as this semmed to have stopped working after being hit. Couldn't resist a photo oppertunity wile there image.jpg

I've found the most miserable place on earth - it's the Calais car ferry waiting lanes. Poor sods looking for a better life burning tyres to stop cars on the way in, big big queues with nobody managing them, so angry carnage ensues, long delays confirmed. Now surrounded by tired screaming kids, oiks aplenty, all apparently smokers, and there's **** all to buy to eat or drink.... Compared to the tunnel, it's really grim. Hopefully I won't have to do it again!

Ah. Just discovered one has to know to ask for bread rolls for the empty side plates. Bread rolls are 'extra'... With soup??? Who would've thought?

A very goo morning to all..........

Got back from Mavericks lovely French Gite last night.....Has the most relaxing holiday. Weather was 30 to 40 most days and if you are after a relaxing time by a pool in the county then this is perfect. Will post some details and pictures for anyone that may be interested later....Hope all has been well in forum land over the last week..Time to catch up....

Was sat enjoying a glass of wine in La Rochelle yesterday and the President of France went and had a meal in the restaurant opposite............Never seem so much press.......
