Morning everyone
Rotten day here with that misty sea fret rain that gets you all wet in stead of the torrential rain that does not
er no that can't be right!
Be safe on this typical BH Monday

Morning all, Spin session done which nearly killed me and the Mrs! It's been a week since I did one and easy to lose fitness with all the booze consumed.

Spent most of the day in the GTS visiting villages and had lunch in Marlborough where I spent a fortune on music for the Le Mans trip.

Going to have a look at Highclere country fair this afternoon and watch the Spitfires. Have a great bank Holiday all

Home now, 156 is at Sunnyside awaiting repair this week. Not sure if I should go back to Hatfield now or on Wednesday when I can get back... The important thing is I started the inspections today. Ah sod it I cannot be bothered, decision made :)

How the heck did we get from four cars to one in just 15 days? Let's hope this is the bottom of the dip!

Hope it's the bottom of the dip for you Newton...

...however, those of you in contact with herself on the FaceAche interweb timewaster might have seen the new 'dip' in the farmyard we have acquired. Seems a very old underground tank (probably a septic tank, but it doesn't smell at all) hadn't been properly capped off or better still filled, and today was the straw that broke the camel's back when she stood in just the right spot and the ground gave way. It's about 6' deep, 6' diameter down there, and the supporting top rubble/soil cover is all of 6" thick. I've been wondering why there was a damp soft hollow just there, but hadn't realised it was quite that deep! Luckily it's not where Newton parked his Maser, otherwise we might have found it a bit earlier and more spectacularly!!

Well well Drew; no seriously it is likely to be a well, if it has been capped and they used timber to cap it that would likely rot and collapse giving a false bottom again. In the farm yard would be a prime location for a well. As you say it is not stinky.

Best to guess the volume and just pump it full of ready mix...

Glad I didn't park on it but who knows I may still have the car if I had!

Had a GoPro down it - not a well.... There's a brick arch leading from it, parallel to the house, towards the tack-room. The arch has a fairly crude brick wall blocking it. The hole is immediately outside what was the door to the middle cottage - the door that's bricked-up. What I don't know is if that was ever inside a lean-to structure. S is uploading the vid to Facebook, so I guess you'll be able to take a look shortly.

Might have to have another go with bigger and brighter lighting :)

Good morning everyone, half day for me today for a 'work permit course ' followed by me arguing why we shouldn't have to do them to work on kit we're employed to maintain.
Got back Sunday morning (on a 737-700 Newton). We refuelled in Newfoundland after a thumper of a landing. spent the past two days catching up the timezone. So nice early drive, to awaken the senses. Have a great week everyone.
